I really want to purchase this bag, but I just dont see $3,000 worth of bag here, if it were all leather maybe but even then. I think $2300 maybe at most. I am still torn but the price just seems ridiculous. I never purchased the original Metis bc I never liked it, didn’t that originally release for under $2000? For the price they could have at least given us a fully adjustable strap and not those snaps.
If I buy this adorable bag the price will effect my enjoyment of wearing it BUT I really like it!

Completely agree! The bag is adorable and I would love to have one, but I can’t wrap my head around the price. This one will stay on my wishlist for awhile.

I ah

I agree, I love the look of this bag so much but the pricing baffles me. I just got the loop gm and that feels like a more substantial purchase at $2780 in terms of size, adjustable strap, etc. It’s also too much vachetta too close to the body than I’m personally comfortable with. I will admire it from afar for now.

Exactly! I really like it but the price/value ratio is just not working out for me right now! I feel like they tacked on an additional $700-$800 just for that gold chain (and I've heard it's a very nice, substantial, quality chain, but still!). I still need to go try it on in person, and I'm not gonna pass on her just yet, but. ... I need to ponder this one a bit more before I pull the trigger.

Yeah, that price! :amazed: I’m kind of liking this bag, though.

It’s definitely something I’d need to try on and see in person. Not convinced it would hold my daily minimum (pocket organizer, car key, phone, sunglasses, mask) the same way my Speedy 20 does and without losing the shape.

Also… I know the prices for LV have gone way up but at this price point I expect more leather (been eyeing Loewe puzzle bags lately).

I found a very helpful review. It may have saved me a trip to go look at this bag. My concern now is less what it holds and more about the canvas strap (would it hold up,over time versus a leather or canvas strap), and I’m not sure I would ever use the chain. So at this price point, for me, I am not sure…

It’s definitely super cute and tempting, though!

Just curious because maybe you see something I missed, but why do you worry about the canvas strap? The original PM also comes with a canvas strap, in a different design but it’s still canvas. I’ve never read any complaints about it. The chain I’m also not a big fan of but you could always use it for another bag or sell it to justify the bags price a bit.

If prefer the durability of leather over canvas. I understand that canvas could see some cracking over time. Which may be an issue if the bag gets used a lot.

Also @Cathindy
I wouldn’t worry about that. My canvas strap on the original PM mono has been used a ton with different bags in any type of weather. After 2.5 years of heavy use, it still looks brand new (except of course some black spots on the metal clasps from where they attach to the d rings, but it’s an expected type of wear). The leather strap on my speedy B in DE doesn’t look as great at the canvas one from PM mono (some leather peeling on the inner side, noticeable creases from closing the metal buckle, spots from pouring rain).
Tbh I find the strap on the new PM EW very appealing, because it combines the durability of canvas with the versatility and functionality of this new snap closure design (is the same on my Boulogne).

Thank you dear for taking the time to explain this! :hbeat: I only have leather straps or chains so nothing to compare to the canvas straps but I already thought it should be sturdy. I do remember complaints about the PM flap glazing but I never read complaints about the strap itself. I’m also very excited about the strap and the possibility to use it on other bags like my PA:nuts:

Thank you for this review! I’ve read a bunch of reviews from people who aren’t fans of this type of snap-closure strap, because it can apparently dig into your shoulder and is a bit less adjustable than say a strap with buckles/multiple holes, so it’s good to know that some still like this type, too. I don’t have a bag with this type of strap, so I’m not quite sure what to expect and still need to try it on in person to see how comfortable it feels and if it can adjust to a good crossbody length for me (I’m about 5’3-4”).

I have two bags with this kind of strap and I love how versatile it is. A normal adjustable strap does not allow short shoulder wear.
The downside of this strap is that there is only one crossbody setting which, depending on height aso, could be either too long or too short. It also digs a bit into the shoulder but not overly much. Curious to hear your thoughts after you tried it on!

Are we already a club? Because I want to join:lol: :panic: It was love at first sight with me and PM EW:love: I love the size, it’s slightly bigger than my mini bags which is what I was looking for and I love the mono strap. I only had leather straps so far so I’m happy I have a mono now too for mixing things up. Only point of critic is the chain, I think it's too chunky to wear as a charm on the bag and too short for shoulder carry so I might sell it to justify the price. Anyway I posted these pictures also on another thread but thought it's nice to post them here also to keep information together!

For reference I’m 170cm/5’7 and size 36! Left is the longest setting and right the middle setting. There’s also a setting for shoulder carry.
