Ohhh I love the charcoal, it's gorgeous!! The mam/mab isn't for me but I would enjoy it on another style bag. Hmmmm. I have the raspberry cupid and I LOVE it, but it is a lot of hardware if you're not crazy about the color. I don't mind the brassy yellow but I prefer RM's light gold. I'm not much of a silver hardware person, unless it's paired with gray or lighter blues.

You are welcome, I'm glad you have the Raspeberry Cupid and love it! I'm a stay at home mom of four, and my look is very casual most days, so I knew couldn't pull off the Cupid :smile1:

Oooooooooooh! Love both your new bags: which means I'd better run out to buy the black one now and get the charcoal version if/when it arrives locally :graucho: . Personally, I love the hardware...it is very warm but not shiny gold which I don't like so much. Normally, I like gunmetal, pewter, brass or brushed gold hardware...so I don't mind the *warmth* of this gold RM hardware. I used to have 2 cupid bags on my Wish List but I've gotten over this bag now. I still like it a LOT but there's a lot going on all at once on the cupid so...it's funny, it was the basic black/gold MAM which caught my eye and got me away from the cupid bags! I thought I was done with MAM bags but I enjoy carrying this style so black is next (I'm trying to steer away from trends now to streamline my new purchases). ENJOY your new gorgeous MAMs!!! Congrats!

On that last photo, the bag looks very blue. Is it just the lighting? Because I'm hoping for more brown undertones.

Thank you! I'm liking the gold on the MAB/MAM more and more, and I agree about the slightly brushed gold being prefereable over the shiny gold. If I remember correctly, the large metal pieces on the handle assembly of the Cupid were shiny gold - too much for me. On the MAM only the zipper and the zipper pulls are shiny, the other metal pieces are brushed.

Enjoy your black MAM when you get her! (And I know you'll love the Charcoal one too if you go with that one as well :smile1:).

Sorry I don't know how to quote multiple posts in the same message, so I'll answer both questions here. Yes, the bag is definitely warmer, not cooler. I should've done a better job adjusting the white balance in that last picture. Also I think the boots, which are a very warm brown, make the bag look cooler-toned in the picture. Charcoal is definitely a WARM grey.

I think the bag *could* look close to black in certain lighting situations and from a distance. Out it bright daylight it definitely looks dark grey to me. I just took a couple more pictures for you (can you tell I'm having fun photographing this bag? :smile1:)

I hope those help, but bear in mind everyone's monitor is calibrated differently, and every camera renders colors and exposure differently. I've tried to adjust the pictures to be faithful to my eye.

I see we share the same analytical mind when it comes to handbag purchases, Starbrite :smile1: No, the bag stays more upright normally, especially when it's fuller - there wasn't much inside. I must've squished it down when I put the sunglasses and case on top.

I did get it on sale at endless, but sadly, since I've moved to Washington state, I pay tax on amazon/endless and it ends up being more like 20% off. I would've been okay with full price I think.
