Hi! My mom just gave me this Bottega Veneta bag but I haven’t been able to find a lot regarding this particular model. She’s had it in storage for years and didn’t use it much. She lost the dust bag and I think it was just sitting in a plastic bin in her storage unit. I’d also like advice on cleaning and or conditioning a leather woven bag. :smile:View attachment 6052587View attachment 6052588View attachment 6052589View attachment 6052590View attachment 6052591
This is a Sloane in the colour Pourpre from 2009. The leather is Nappa Umbria, and it was a (waxed) treated lambskin.
Personally, I wouldn’t condition any BV bag in Nappa Umbria unless it got dragged behind your car or something.
@indiaink might have more insight about conditioning leather bags…

Thank you so much! Would you happen to know what its resale market value would be?

Agree with V0N - and looking at the photos you provided, this leather is very nice indeed, no conditioner needed.

BV, unfortunately, looses value the second it walks out the retail door… at this point you’ve got a beautiful bag with tons of sentimental value.

@luvmylouis, our India is right, BV is not known for great resale. I did check eBay and a black Sloane went for $1000. That’s very good.

Vintage BV — or bags during the Maier era — are in demand but the Sloane is less iconic than the original Veneta hobo. And Poupre is a beautiful but not basic color. I’d give a broad range of $350-850.

Thank you for the info! Out of curiosity, would you happen to know the original retail value of the Sloane?

Hey, does somebody know the year/ name/ price of this beautiful bag? Is it Tomas Maier ? It only came with a short strap but had extra d rings and I don’t know the purpose for it.maybe bag charms? I bought an extra (perfect matching) bottega veneta shoulder strap, for more convienince. 🔥or did it originally came with the two strap options? I have no clue. Thank you❤️
