Yes, the SAs always clean the jewelry in stores, and even at the Jewelry Show, which I never miss whenever it's in the area - great deals and selection of ALL kinds of jewelry (www.intergem.net).
This one however was a mail order, so I just got it in the box and assumed this is how it should look like! Good thing I checked!
