Please help me decide between 2 sapphire rings

Here is the story - I got #2 first, loved the stone AND the diamonds, then got #1, loved it better in the picture, but - this is really unbelievable - when I got the ring, the center stone did not look as pretty, as in the picture. I thought it's really weird and decided to keep the smaller one...until today it struck me to WASH the ring. You wouldn't imagine how it changed the stone, it was like I got a different ring altogether! You get something brand new from the jeweler, and it doesn't ever occur to you that it might be plain DIRTY! Makes you wondering what these people are thinking - I almost sent the ring back!
Anyway - I just wanted to hear your opinions, but I do like the big one better!! Thank you so much for the encouragement!!!

That's funny. I know that if I'm seriously considering making a major jewelry purchase, I'll ask the SA to clean the item (and some of my stuff). That way I'm not confusing dirt for blemishes, etc.
