I really liked the one flower Orchid ring. It's funny because about three weeks ago, I was also looking at the Cartier Orchid ring collection and I couldn't make up my mind between the one flower, two flower or paved one flower ring. I can't afford the two flower paved ring :giggles:

I got the chance to try on both rings yesterday and they were both lovely. Maybe it's the more sensible side of me which is thinking but the one flower seemed more practical for everyday wear. The two flower is more of a special occasion ring. I don't think I could wear it everyday (that's just me though).

My SA said that more people have the one flower ring, whereas the two flower is more unique. I have yet to run into anyone with either of those rings!

I think it just depends on how often you plan on wearing the ring. And if you want something that is unique. Both pieces are gorgeous and you can't go wrong either way but because Cartier is not cheap, I would prefer to buy something that I could wear a lot.

I take into account cost-per-wear when I purchase clothes and jewellery so I would want a ring that I could wear everyday. I suppose you could wear the two flower ring everyday but I don't think I could do that personally. The one flower ring = no problem.

It all comes down to personal preference and what makes your heart sing at the end of the day.

If I could choose between Cartier and VCA, I'd get the VCA Frivole Between-the-Finger Ring over the two flower Orchid ring.

thank you so much for your insight, Peppermint. right now i scratched the cartier off my list. but i can still consider it though. and you are right i really have to try them on.

because with the price of the cartier ring i can get a ring with more stones in them which won't scratch as much. but on the other hand the cartier ring is more understated, which is more my style.

ah decisions, decisions......

No worries!

Buying jewellery should be fun so don't stress about it - just try everything on and enjoy yourself while you are holidaying! :smile1:

it IS stressing me out!! i would prefer to just walk in the store then get what i want. i am easily persuaded and am fickle (isn't it obvious?). so hard also if there isn't a store i can go to on a regular basis.

Awww! :hugs:

All I can say is, look at what jewellery you already have and what is really missing from your collection?

I know you don't have much time till you go on holidays but I would suggest you go to the stores with a list of what you would like and then make up your mind once you have tried everything on.

If it doesn't make your heart sing, don't get it! It doesn't matter if you leave the store empty handed because you don't want to end up with something that you aren't 100% happy with.

I hate seeing people waste money and you should not feel pressured to buy anything unless you absolutely love it. Cartier and VCA will always be around!

Thanks so much for your words of wisdom Peppermint!

i was wondering myself why be a slave to the thoughts of the SAs eh? if i am to buy something with my own money then it should be all bout me, me, me!!!!

i have a lot of missing pieces hehehe. i live in asia and can have access to non designer jewelry. we can also get it cheaper too, but lately i'm not liking the designs. it's all about stones, stones, stones to them. and all illusion solitaires or earrings, pendant. i look more into the designs whether or not it's all diamonds or colored stones. i also like to travel with a bit of a bling but dislike wearing flashy jewelry (hence i got interested into vca). but a vca pendant can get me a nice stone encrusted piece here in asia. i'm not making any sense am i?

thanks though for hearing me out :)

You are so cute baileylab!

And you are totally making sense so don't worry!

Designer jewellery is always going to cost more than non-designer jewellery. I would only buy designer jewellery if I loved it and could not get that design anywhere else.

I am quite picky when it comes to jewellery and really think out my purchases before spending the money. Jewellery is so personal so you need to love what you wear!

Style wise, I tend to buy pieces which are classic (eg. diamond studs, diamond pendant) because I don't change my jewellery everyday. I am quite lazy :giggles: so I prefer pieces that will be able to withstand everyday life and that don't have to be babied.

Even though I adore jewellery, I don't have this desire to have a huge collection of it. I don't mind spending more money on something as long as I can wear it everyday.

thanks so much for your comforting words peppermint :)

i already have the basics covered so i want to go playful this time. i already have hermes bracelets and want to go up a notch by going to vca. bec they're so darn cute!

If you already have the basics covered, that's great!

VCA is so wonderful so any pieces from there will make a great addition to your collection!

I love the Sweet Alhambra, Frivole, Socrate and Cosmos collections
