Brown stamps are standard for a number of leathers, most commonly Chamonix (which this bag is not) and some peau porc (could be a really bad picture of PP? the grain looks off). If you search "brown heat stamp" or similar, you will see a number of bags with a brown stamp.

Best option of course is to post in this thread and let folks like @Lumine and @r luvs h opine.
Thank you so much @QuelleFromage !

Hi! I am thinking about buying this bag, it is from a reputable site. The thing I can’t get my mind around is the black/brown stamp. I’m no Hermès expert but it seems odd that it is in dark letters instead of golden ones.

Lovely @QuelleFromage suggested to post it here, so you can help me get more info about why/when may a Kelly have a dark stamp.

Sorry, but I don’t have more/better pictures.
Thanks!! 🙏🏻
The bag is Ardennes in color Natural which has a brown stamp.

It is hard to be certain without having an idea of the production year or any closer pictures of the bag, but I would guess Havanne Swift. If you could find any other pictures, that may help.

Thanks for that. I really like the colour, not sure about the material. How does swift hold up in B35? Is there another colour/material I can look into to achieve this same look?

Very welcome!:flowers: Swift will hold up well enough, but it will be a bit slouchier in larger sizes like Birkin 35 and 40. If you’re wanting to buy something like this from the boutique, I cannot think of anything currently available that would fit the bill. If you are okay with buying secondhand, however, I would consider these leather/colour options:

Gulliver (Havanne)
Swift (Havanne, Chocolat, Prune)
Evergrain (Havanne, Ébène)
Evercalf (Havanne)
Retourné Box Calf (Chocolat)

*Mods, please feel free to move as necessary.*

Would you say that colour is more havanne or Chocolat?

I am thinking of havanne or choc in evergrain. Can't decide which colour as I can't pinpoint actual colour when googling.

Leaning more towards a brown without red undertone. Like a cool dark brown.

I quite like the colour for choc togo. What is the colour equivalent in evergrain? Need to keep my options open.

Looking for a B35 for travel and sometimes for work if necessary. Goes well black and neutrals with flats and sneakers (I dress laidback) and goes well either colours in summer.

The colour of the pictured bag is more likely Havanne than Chocolat (based on the resin, which seems brown to me). Prune and Havanne will have medium to heavy red undertones in Swift, so I would avoid those if you want more of a flat, dark brown colour.

I don’t believe Evergrain ever came in Chocolat, so if you want an Evergrain bag, it sounds like Ébène would be the best option for you!
