White gold. Save your money. My older white gold Love ring is "tarnishing" and is not nearly as white as my newly acquired white gold 1/2 diamond Love ring =O)

See the color difference?

Thanks for the pretty pic! You have two Love rings!? They are both gorgeous. :D

Do you mean the older one is platinum? I thought white gold didn't tarnish only turns yellow as the rhodium wears off?

I thought Platinum was more hard wearing than white gold & didn't scratch as much due to its heavier weight and greater density.

Am i wrong?

I would still go for white gold for the love ring, platinum from Cartier will be sooooo expensive.

If money is no object treat yourself to the Platinum ;)

Ah... the age old question. I read *really* helpful post by Raspberry, I think, on the Jewelry forum a while back.

Platinum is more dense and softer. The little atoms actually move around instead of just being knocked off, that's why it's better to use for diamond prongs. If you bang it against something the prong will just move instead of break off and you lose your diamond.

White gold is harder. The atoms just get chipped off over time.

Yeah I wonder what the price of platinum from Cartier will be. :push:

Both are white gold. I was told at the AD that only the diamond rings and bracelets are Rhodium plated. Maybe someone can confirm this?

A while back ago I bought a full diamond Love bracelet and the non diamond love ring. I really wanted the half diamond ring at the time... but the wallet was tapped out. A couple of days ago I was at the AD and just couldn't resist getting the 1/2 diamonds that I regretted not buying so long ago hahaha.

I won't be wearing the non diamond one anymore so I'll probably sell it or just keep it in the safe.
