Hi Coolwaves, not all revisions are the fault of the surgeons. Sometimes, it could just be the individual who isn't happy with their permanent results, since results vary. Some people are just super critical of themselves and want everything to be exactly as how they want it, so they will go through extra measures (multiple surgeries) just to get their ideal desired look. I've seen some people who looked fine after their first or second surgery, but they're still never satisfied and always going in for more revisions. Some will have obvious valid reasons for revisions. Some will have valid reasons that may not be seen externally by others and some will have unnecessary reasons no one understands. Don't get me wrong though, there are surgeons who do botched jobs and those surgeons definitely need to be exposed. PS in South Korea is getting more and more expensive and depending on where you're from, you could be spending a lot more. The price of being a foreigner, which isn't fair... (sigh). Any revision work I have to get done, will most likely be done in my homeland. Some people will go back to the same surgeon if it's free to them. My only advice to that is, never go get your revision with the same surgeon who botched you. Just because it's free revision, doesn't mean you can trust the same surgeon twice unless it's just a minor aesthetics issue or concern. Some things, once re-done too many times can never be undone.

hi was wondering when was the best time to go to korea for surgery?

somewhere i could fit 4-5 consultations and surgery within a week ?

i am looking to do chin implant / genioplasty and acculift for jawline

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Honestly probably now is a good time to go. The PS industry in Korea is really suffering post-MERS especially because mainland Chinese are staying away. You should be able to bargain a pretty good price for yourself just because of that.

But Usually the end of the year is a good time to go (pre-Dec).

Hey everyone! I came back from Korea about 2 months now! My procedures were rhinoplasty revision, vline surgery, and fat grafting..I like my results..I still look like myself but a better version.(since I got through immigration without any problem lol) the total cost of my procedures was a little less than $13,000 use...originally they quoted me around $16,000-$18,000 usd(I forgot). Kind of steep being that they know I'm a foreigner. If you would like to know which clinic I went to or have any questions you can message me. A really huge tip I have for you all who are planning to do rhinoplasty and v line at the same time..be ready for MAJOR discomfort...lack of sleep, can't eat, smell anything, depression,.its not painful but just very uncomfortable. I regretted doing it while I was recovering but now I feel like it was worth it but i wouldn't want to ever go through that again.

How is your recovery? Can you tell me which clinic(s) you went to?
I would like to get my v-line and rhino revision at the same time too...thank you in advance.

Hi everyone, I just had double eyelid revision, lateral, epi and ptosis correction done in Korea. Don't want to say the name of the clinic because it is still early (abt 3 weeks). The crease still seems too high and the eyelid skin seems like it's sagging and hollow. My surgeon told me the height will drop by "at least half" but I do not really believe him, as nothing much has changed and the swelling basically has stopped. I am afraid that he has removed too much skin. He says this is not the case, but again, I do not really believe him. Also there are two creases, one from my first surgery and all the residual swelling seems concentrated in that area. You can see this in my picture. I am not happy about this at all. Please let me know if any of you guys went through this as well. It would be greatly appreciated.

Hello all,

I'm kinda of new to this, went through the "major" PS list and still deciding what I want to do. I've sent an email to the Line clinic and will do that with Jk next. I'm hoping to go there in Nov, anyone going to Korea then? I guess it's not the best time since North Korea is firing at South Korea.

I'm looking to do liposuction, still deciding on revisiting the rhinoplasty because I did mine over 10 years ago. Can anyone give me a timeline so I know how much leave I need from work. So consulting time is booked online before I fly in,
1. Do you usually go into operation within 2-3 days?
2. I'm sure they'll need 3-4 days before review and release me
3. Are there professional translator we can hire? Imagine if its some dodgy people while you are trying to ask question or haggle pricing they are actually carrying a conversation themselves. I wouldn't even know.

I wish I can remember the site I read years ago when this one Vietnamese girl went to Thailand for her revision and the picture of her eyes reminds me of yours. I will never forget that thick crease scarring she had, almost as thick as yours. Maybe you can still Google it, but I wouldn't even know what you can type in the search field to find it as it was many years ago and there are millions of PS blogs now. I tried searching for it and to no avail. Hopefully, it's not too serious and maybe it will get better with time. If I were you, I'd most likely seek out a 2nd or 3rd opinion from different PS surgeons, to see what they think. It just doesn't look normal, despite it being only 3 weeks.

I wouldn't be too worried about North Korea. This kind of thing is not uncommon and SK does get put on red alert every few years. Nothing much visibly changes in Seoul though.

If you book online beforehand and secure a surgery spot, they will usually arrange to do your consultation the day you fly in, with surgery scheduled for the next day. IF you fly in after business hours, they can even do both your consult and surgery on the same day, usually the day after.

I highly doubt they will let you go 3 days after liposuction (or rhinoplasty for that matter). I would say 7 days post-op is likely to be the bare minimum, probably 10. For your own health and safety I wouldn't recommend any stay less than 14 days post op. Especially for lipo you are at an increased risk of hematoma, which could be exacerbated by flying too soon.

Thanks for the reply, leaving within 3 days probably wouldn't be a good idea, but not sure if I can stay for 14 days. I might have to find some clinic that do aftercare in 2-3 months, I'll fly back to Japan for ski in feb and stopby Korea.

Do most people fly in for consultation in different clinic, fly back home and decide which one to go with or it's possible to fly in, visit 3-4 clinic on day one. Then choose whom you wish to go with and have operation on day 3. I'm just concerned the chosen clinic may not be available for my operation.

No I don't think most people can afford to fly in just for consultations and then fly back for surgery. I have heard of some people that do as many as 10 consultations before choosing a clinic. I think the more sensible approach is to research very thoroughly before your trip and narrow it down to 1 or 2 places you want to visit. It is much more realistic and a lot less stressful. Plus, you should pick a doctor not a clinic so you can research most of that information before you even leave.

Id say 3 clinics is probably the max you could visit on one day as consultations tend to take a long time (with photos, X-rays, speaking with consultants, doctors and waiting around (a lot!!))

If you are concerned that your chosen doctor may not be available when you fly over then that's when it's a good idea to lock everything before you fly so that you can be sure to get your surgery slot with your chosen doctor. I have had experience going with someone who did not have a confirmed surgery spot and it meant they had to go with a different surgeon because the head surgeon specialising in the surgery was already fully booked. Myself, I always book my surgey spot months in advance. I like the piece of mind and always research everything to within an inch of its life so I don't have too many decisions to make right at the critical time haha:p
