That's definitely almond!! Congrats!! You could always attach the strap on the handle D rings on opposite sides. That will lengthen a bit even though it might not be comfortable that way.
Does this have paisley lining? I've been trying to avoid that midnight/pewter matinee I saw a few days ago (can't even remember where now lol)
