Thanks! It was $7500, but that was with NO discount at all. They wouldn't budge on the price, but we decided to go for it anyway. I'm sure you could get it for a little less if you shopped around.

Beautiful watch and the ring is a KILLER!

Rolex does not give discounts; I have shopped in numerous stores and asked around and they never gave in so you did do well with the price knowing that the price keeps on going up every year!

Congratulations on your new watch!

Thanks so much for the compliments, everyone!! :smile1:

Sometimes you can negotiate discounts, but Rolex is cracking down on that. It depends on the model you want, and the dealer. Dh was able to get 15% off on a Rolex for himself recently, which amounted to a significant savings. I like your thinking that I got a good deal because of the price increases! I know they're having another one soon, so I got in just in time!

I posted on here a few months ago when I was debating which one to get, and I looked through all your photos which were so helpful! I saw this one last week and knew it was 'the one'! It's a mid-size datejust, jubilee band, black mother of pearl face, with roman numerals. I LOVE it!

Gorgeous watch, but that ROCK is hogging all my attention! :p

Yummy watch! And that is some major Ice-Ice Baby!

I've noticed Rolex AD are more inclined to give discounts on less popular models, IME.

That's actually one of their most popular models though, normally those that offer discounts offer less of a discount on the stainless models, like ony 10% so she did great, but she does have the more expensive mother of pearl face and gold bezel (unless I'm mistaken and the entire watch is gold, I think they do the jubilee bracelet in gold right?) so that mixed with the not so great economy probably got them the 15%. The jeweler we used gave us NADA, but we got it a couple increases ago and it was a hard to find combo so it was worth the 5-10% more since DH wanted to get it for me on the spot.....

We couldn't get any discount on my watch, I'm guessing because it is a popular model and because the black mother of pearl is more difficult to come by. I agree with pp that they seem more inclined to discount less popular and/or more expensive models. The Rolex my husband just got is a less popular style, and I'm guessing that's why he was able to get a decent discount.

I asked the Rolex store people if they had seen a decrease in sales, and they said since the stock market problems they have seen a big drop. I asked if they thought they'd be discounting more in that case, and they said definitely not, if anything there will be fewer discounts, but that we might be able to find some good deals in the used market as people try to sell their watches to free up cash. Something to keep in mind!
