I read some comments mentioning train wreck for the less than perfect bags; so quoted I. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I like what I like.
I know this is a very late reply, but I hope you had H look at her and work their magic. It’s a gorgeous bag and definitely priceless to own something from them so old!! What on honor!
OMG, this looks like a different bag!Excited to share before & after photos of a 1987 Vache Natural 35 Kelly I've been working on. The first photo shows how it looked when it arrived a few days ago, and the second shows how wonderfully vache responds to some care. In spite of my posting in this thread, I actually think this bag is PERFECT-- it's just not pristine! There is something magical about the glow of the Vache, and the marks and spots that remain look right at home on this Kelly. I'm much more taken with this bag than with any of the bags I own that are in much newer condition.

My vintage Kelly 35 from 1989 that I found at my local pawn shop. She's in great condition but gonna send to leather surgeons to have the slouch in the front fixed.

I’m happy to learn that you’re going to use leather surgeons. I have a clutch on the way back to me (from them) as I type this. I had never needed rehab on a bag before this, but I felt really comfortable in my initial contact with them and am excited to see how my newly refreshed clutch turned out. Plus one! She’s gorgeous as she is and if you send her for repairs anywhere other than H there’s a really high chance they won’t work on the bag if you ever need it. For instance if the hardware broke.
