It was suppose to be making fun of the fact the before Carole and Michael (Pippa's Parents) became millionaires, Carole was flight attendant and Michael was a pilot.

That's so wrong....

So much of current day aristocracy is grasping onto their last pennies. For most it's an empty title. And now we're making fun of people who make honest livings and contribute to society? I'm pretty sure a pilot benefits us more than an bored aristocrat.

wow.

like pilots and flight attendants are just so lowly....what a bunch of jerks.

somehow they sent those girls to private schools/universities...made millions well before any royal connections. i'd say the parents are the best of all of them.

All these comments about social climbing are a bit disturbing. I don't have children, but if I did , I would do just as the Middletons. Work hard, create a company, send my kids to the best schools I can possibly send them to. If my children were the same age as Prince William or Harry, you better believe I would send my kids to that same school!! Why not?

You can fake love up to a certain point - I'm sure if Prince William and Kate Middleton did not possess chemistry and love (which you can feel through the photos) eventually you would not be able to keep the charade going for too long. Same goes for Pippa and her husband. I adore her in these photos at Pippas wedding, taking care of the children, keeping them in line. She appears to be a great mother

They are doing exactly what most parents would do. I think the Middletons appear lovely.

I think Pippa's dress is beautiful. I actually like it better than the one Kate wore. She looks beautiful as do the kids and Kate. Her new husband is kind of dorky looking but I guess she didn't marry him for his looks.

I really don't know why this received so much attention in the U.S.
^ I'm so glad to hear you say that. I don't get it either... I guess it's because the wedding business is so huge and this was a particularly traditional storybook picture type of wedding. The princess fantasy sells and what could be more perfect than an "authentic" wedding with "authentic" royal connections.

I have to say if the average person actually hung around the toffs and high society crowd they might have very different feelings towards all of it. The Middletons and William and Harry might be lovely people but there are serious a-holes that move in those circles. I have friends and family members who've worked various well to do functions for that strata of society and the stories they tell me... hmmmm not terribly flattering.

Some of what people were tuning into was also Kate Middleton and the children and then one they've got those pictures it's ... OMG look at those roses around the doorway, look at the church, look at the dress, look at the car and so on.

People like chatting, people like gossip, people need frivolous distractions to get them through the day ... she did make quite a splash with her geisha shimmy when Kate M was married... The number of people that watched Kate M's wedding is huge so if only half or perhaps less than half of those people tune in to see her based on their memory of her from Kate's wedding that's still a pretty big, bankable audience.

I have never been able to figure out what the hoopla was over Pippa's butt at Kate and William's wedding. It seemed more articles focused on her and her rear end than on the bride and groom. Maybe all this press is carry over from that moment.

I don't understand this "good school" convo. I went to a public high school and then an Ivy League post secondary. Of course I didn't marry a prince but I really wouldn't want to.

A VP I know at my company sends his kids to an expensive private school and they hate it and want to go back to public. He started sending them there after he got promoted.

My cousins went to expensive private schools and are still living off their parents.

They don't sound like they're all that great to me.
