Philippa (Pippa) Middleton - Kate Middleton's Sister

Pippa and her husband name their new baby Arthur Michael William. I was really hoping she would pick Michael. I dislike the name Arthur (so old sounding) but I wasn't thrilled when Kate and William named baby Louis either. Do all British people have to name their kids after ancestors or is there some kind of official list they have to choose from? I know the Royal family has lists but Pippa and her husband, aren't they just regular people free to name their baby whatever they want?

I'm from the UK, no list, you can name your child anything. Within reason of course.

A lot of traditional names are coming back into style so I'm not surprised. I'm not a fan of these names but to each their own.

IDK but it's possible they named him Arthur after a loved one and plan on calling him Michael or Artie or .....

isn't Williams second (or third ..) Name also Arthur? I have the Feeling it's around at the Cambridges.
I wouldn't take a name that is already taken of my sisters husband or children ..
But I also get the Feeling that she emulates kate a lot.

Yes it's Prince William Arthur Philip Louis - with such long names you can honor many dead/alive relatives.
