People are so TACKY

I was at the doctors last week in the waiting room when the lady sitting across from me started to make some small talk. After a bit of chit chat about the long wait she asked me if my prada was real. I hate being asked questions like this! Then she asked me how much I paid and gave me a dirty look when I answered. I mean, by asking that question you have to know that it is expensive. I just think people today are so rude and don't have any courtesy. :yucky:

Hi, Im new here... I just rememeber last Saturday, I was at the market to buy some food for lunch, I was using my bottega cabas;) and a woman around 40's approached me and said she liked my bag and was asking where I bought it. And I told her directly from the store. She said " oh how much is that?" I told the price and she was like:nuts: so surprised perhaps she thought my bag was fake... I just smiled :smile1: and told her, I dont buy fakes and walk away.... I was laughing:laugh: and told my bf and eventually we were both laughing during our lunch.... It's just so sad that here in asia, fakes are everywhere....

i don't like it when people ask if my bag is real, but at the same time, i can't really blame them because fakes are so rampant these days. then when i tell them it's real they ask how much it was, which i don't like either, because then they won't hesitate to tell me i've lost my marbles for paying that much for a bag. and again, i don't blame them, because they spend about 1/50 of the amount i pay for the aforementioned rampant fakes :p

A woman I work with made a comment about my Damier Alma being a really good knockoff. I had to laugh. I just told her that I sure HOPE it looks good -- since I got it at the LV boutique!!! :p

An awful former coworker of mine assumed my petit bucket bag was fake- she even came out and asked in a crowded elevator! My friend, who was with us, rescued the situation by asking her why she was being obnoxious and would even assume that it's not real to begin with.

Considering the evil stares I get when I carry my epi bags, all I can say is that some people have problems. :hysteric:

It doesn't really bother me when people ask me about my bags. The ones that have gotten the most attention are any of my tokidoki bags and just today a girl working at Starbucks inquired where I bought my Citta Rosa print bag and I told her and she was a little smarter in asking about the price by saying, "Awesome I want one, those are around 250 right?" and I told her my particular bag was less than that at 195 and she nodded noting that was a great price to pay. Sometimes, people just want to know! If someone ever (though no one has yet) told me why I spend that much on a bag or if down the road I spend more I'll just point out that people spend a whole lot more than I do on their hobbies: whether it is cars, computers, hell even going out and partying every night drinking hard liquor drinks for a week pay for my bag. I'd tell people it is all relative. Besides, is 200 dollars worth my happiness? No question--of course it is.

I figure if you spend 1500 dollars on a bag or more, it is the same thing as buying a computer or hell GAMING computers go for 3000 dollars. Don't get me started on how much money guys will put into their cars sometimes and no one gives them that much crap. I think if you are a miserable person, you'll find reasons to make other people feel miserable. I pity people who feel they are better than someone who allows themselves happiness in something they want. It's not their money anyway. Just my two cents. :)

we were outside of one of my classes before it started and this lady comes up to us and asks how much we paid for our bags..and we go, "Um..like $1200."
And she goes, "Man you got ripped OFF! I can get you a huge duffle bag for only $40!!"
.

I HATE that when something like that happens. Its SO annoying.

the worst thing is if they ask you how much it cost

and you reply £1000 or whatever

and they go on to say 'how could you spend that much on a bag' etc

that infuriates me

I feel the same. A friend of mine will ask me these types of questions everytime I carry a particular bag or wear expensive sunglasses. Then I hear, I could never spend that much on a bag, I would rather spend it on something else.

I just hate when people ask me how much I spent on something... I usually play it down.

I haven't had anyone ask me if my bags are fakes... at least not yet. I don't have an LV (yet to find one I can't live without) so I have not experienced some of the things you girls have. But I never have any problems with my friends because they know I am a bag addict and know that I would never buy a fake. Also  they have seen me buy several bags before... and their reaction would be a little grin and laugh and then ask me "another bag?"

i do the same thing michele.. my friends now just ask "is that one of your expensive bags?" and i just nod my head.. and i know it's just me, but i always get super defensive when they tell me they would rather do "something else" with that money - like they're trying to be morally superior to me or something. i mean please, it's not like they're donating their money to WHO or the Red Cross or something..
