i also agree, pears are really elegant. and with two side baguettes timeless.

does anyone know if there is a risk to put 3 prongs on your pear, instead of 5? i think 3 prongs look better but is 5 really that much more secure?

5 prongs is safer!!! People freaked out when they saw my
Original setting had only 3 prongs

i'm not sure how well versed you are in diamonds, but if it matters to you, you should also know that pear cuts often have the bow tie effect which is not very pretty and i have seen some really terrible ones out there. there's no strict guideline on what the perfect proportion on a pear is, so it's really about buying it with your eyes.

now back to topic, i love rb and step cuts, it's personal just like many have already said. so choose what your heart goes with. rounds are always going to be the most classic and with the right proportions, nothing sparkles like a rb does.

The Marquise is very flattering but since it's the least popular at the moment, you could get a killer deal from a jeweler/private dealer. It's all a very personal choice, however....

What's your opinion on these rings? Are they as popular as the round or square rings?

I want something that's classy which I don't want to regret in 5yrs time, I was thinking of being safe and going for a round soleste instead

you should get what you love and not what you think is popular If you like pear now because you've seen it on celebs then maybe you should go try on different styles and see what you like- you might be surprised!! I've always been a square/rectangle girl but have fallen in love with my oval.

BUT- i might add that I really LOVE pears! One of my bffs got a pear this year and it's just perfect. Trust me- when you're in love and happy, you won't care at all what shape is on your finger : )
