Paying Full Price for Coach 1941 collection?

I won't pay full retail for any Coach that you can find at Macy's, Dillard's, Belk, etc because you will always be able to get it at 25% off. I typically wait for those items until they hit clearance plus an additional 25-30% off as well. When it comes to the 1941 line I have bought a few at full price because I reallllly wanted them or they were for gifts but the rest I got at around 15-30% off. I bought my burgundy python tea rose rogue full price last year and I don't regret it one bit. It sold out really fast and then they restocked it months later but it is no longer python, it's a different type of snake and looks different. I prefer the softer look and feel of the python on my tea rose rogue but really love the shinier look to the snake on my heather grey rogue 36. To me, the python does feel/look my expensive than the snake.

And if you watch store websites like NM and Saks there are frequently coupon promotions where you can get really nice 1941 bags for 15-25% off. Unless it is a ltd. edition like Disney or the pop-ups that appear, I agree with you- I will not pay full retail for Coach. The idea that it will be deeply discounted soon is very unpalatable.

Some brands like LV never go on sale so I take the hit when I see something that is HTH (which is pretty often I hate to say).
I bought a pink dinky at NM on St. Patrick's day, I got 30% off. I can't justify paying full price.

I agree Harley77. The python looks better than the snake IMHO. I have the Outlaw colorblock in Olive with yellow python. I think it looks amazing, plus I got it discounted.
I paid full price for my Disney collection because it sold so quickly. At least the bags did. I

FP limited editions shouldn't qualify for this question. The true limited edition bags won't be around to be discounted.

Agreed. I did pay FP for my woodstock wristlet but that was a limited Edition piece. The more typical bags i think it's a personal thing, you have to go with your own comfort zone. I generally avoid FP for anything i can lol.

I have managed to find fabulous bags discounted. I must like the seasonal or trendy items the most since they all seem to get discounted eventually. Here are some examples.. I found the smooth black leather Swagger 27 with Butterflies at Macy's on clearance and there was an additional discount on all Coach bags at the time. I had to snap it up because I never thought I would get my hands on that bag. I got the brown Swagger 27 canyon quilt with the hair calf and tea roses on the winter sale as well as a Mickey wallet. Both items I never thought would be on sale ever. Then the biggest get was my black and pink tea rose Rogue 25 I got in the most recent pre-sale. I have become spoiled. I go to the outlet looking for deletes, no longer interested in 99% of the MFF items. Most recent find there was an Ace in racing green. I think I need to take a break on buying! I have only carried Coach since the early 1990's when I got my first real beautiful purse as a gift in high school. Back when you could only buy Coach at one local department store. There was quite a long time where I didn't buy any purses so I must be making up for lost time.

I bought my Rogue on eBay for $500. I have never spent that much on a bag before, but I absolutely loved the oxblood with red lining.
I saw it on ebay for that price and I knew I had to have it.
Nice price, I like that color combo. I got my denim rogue on eBay also, same price! It was between oxblood and denim for me....
