at FSH it was kinda like being in a tourist spot, a cross say between a museum and a zoo. i had the opportunity to sit for about 40 minutes (waiting for someone) and just watch what was going on at the handbag counters... quite amusing i must say! in particular i remember this one lady trying to choose between 2 birkins, going back and forth in the mirror, looking at them side-by-side on the counter, taking input from her SO (the SA was patient/smart enough to just smile and wait it out), i'm not kidding this took over 20 minutes. and did i mention what the 2 birkins were? both 40 black taurillon with ghw!!!

When you buy a Birkin, your name is checked against a "watch-list" and the manager in Paris can deny the bag if they think that you are a reseller. I know that there is a limit to one Birkin family bag per visit - not sure if it is per visit or per year... perhaps someone can clarify this?

Of course you can get round this by bringing a friend or if you have your DH with you, you can buy 2. But an experienced manager can spot this a mile away.

I don't know about normal leather Birkins, because I have only bought the one from FSH, but on my last trip, I managed to snaffle 2 croc Birkins, and although one was in Dec, and the other in Jan, my SA said I needed to buy the second under my own name/card (all my purchases have been under DH's name so far). But I do know of people buying several Birkins from FSH in one year, although not at the same time.

However, I can confirm there is no limit on the number of bags one can purchase at one time if they are of different styles, because I have bought several bags at one go, but in different styles.

I suspect, though, if one were to buy diamond Birkins, they would happily sell you more than one at a time! The profit margin on those are unbelievable.
