Okay so I actually *did* just buy a Paolo Masi bag (at MARSHALL'S however) and I love it! I'm not much of a bag person, but I've been looking for a nice leather bag and thought I'd treat myself to something *not* Kipling :D and this was only $100, gorgeous leather/color/style, and just basically perfect. Sooo when I got home, I looked up the "designer" and found this. So...I'm on the fence. Kinda leaning towards "not a real person" (Paolo Masi = the lady from fashion vortex?) but it doesn't change the bag in *my* eyes. I'm curious if anyone's found this brand anywhere *but* TJ Maxx / Marshalls or on eBay though. Straaange...

Hello all, I am a real person and I am an avid shopper of both TJ Maxx and Marshalls and I have actually purchased two Paolo Masi bags from TJ Maxx. A mink crossbody by the way is GORGEOUS and a light grey one with black leather trim both cost $200. I did research and a previous poster is correct you can find him on fashionvortex.com. Just google "who is paolo masi" and the site will come up and here is one line from the site.

The designer has no web presence. To order his handbags, one must be at a wholesale handbag tradeshow or visit his company in Florence.

Hopes this helps...and again yes I am real & not trying to push his bags but if you get a chance go to your local TJ Maxx, several here in Michigan that I go to just got a shipment in of mink bags from him. :D

I recently bought a Paolo Masi bag from TJMaxx. I've tried looking the brand up to see what kind of history they have - but the only thing that comes up are ebay sellers. Does anyone have any info on this brand?

I too thought the quality was great. I purchased my Paolo Masi mink handbag at a discount retailers (Marshall's) and was stunned to see that the designer didn't even have a website.

I agree, ladies- I purchased a GORGEOUS Paolo Masi mink hand bag, black and white leopard print, black leather trim, gold tone hardware. It is STUNNING! I could tell from examining the bag in the store (TJ Maxx) that it was of high quality- buttery soft leather, and the softest, most beautiful mink/ leopard print. So I bought it without looking up the designer/ brand (these things are usually secondary for me; I am more concerned about quality than a brand name, although certainly I do associate quality with certain brands).

And yes, I just joined this forum today, because it was one of the first results listed in the Google search. I saw the positive feedback about Paolo Masi, and also some members questioning the authenticity or sincerity of the posts. I can understand the skepticism- if you are going to drop hundreds/ thousands of dollars on a handbag, there is a desire to assure you are getting what you pay for. All I can say is that I highly recommend checking out your local TJ Maxx to see if one of these precious bags is available. I am in love!

Hello, Ladies,

I came across the conversation about Paolo Masi bags and a couple of people mentioning fashionvortex.com. I am the owner of this online boutique and have met Mr. Paolo Masi in person. I even have a photo with him posted in one of the posts on the fashionvortex blog.

I love his bags as well. They serve me well for a number of years. I considered carrying his fur line, but decided against given that many people in the U.S. are against fur products.

Paolo Masi is an italian leather purse designer the business originally made saddles then was passed down to son who branch into handbags the company dose not have a huge online presence but makes beautiful leather handbags just have to be careful its a real Paolo Masi

Paolo Masi is fantastic designer based in Tuscany and all of his bags are beautifully handmade using high quality vegetable dyed Italian leather. Attavanti have an extensive range of his woven leather hobo and grab bags that are simply exquisite and because of their construction are very lightweight.

Hi, maybe you'll know about this then? I hope? The construction is wild. I've never seen anything like it. Do you have any idea what year it might be from? I found it going through my grandmother's things. I can't find anything that looks even close to it. Anything is helpful ❤️

I saw one on eBay indicating it was mink. From 1980s.
