pandora charms - trendy or classic?

I think they're trendy. They're very pretty and I'd love to get one, I've been thinking about it for a while now. But they're certainly not classic in the sense of diamond studs, or a diamond solitaire ring.

I'd have to agree. I too have been considering buying one for some time now and each time I'm about to bite the bullet I get something else instead: diamond studs, ring and now a watch. I like them and think that they are soo pretty but I worry I will outgrow it quickly.

i agree! after much deliberation (and actually buying a bracelet), i returned it for fear that it would sit in my jewelry box a few years from now. i told myself years ago that i would only buy classic jewelry pieces so i'm looking for something else instead. they are beautiful and i love the idea, but with the $$$ i can get something else more timeless for me :)

I love them, and I think if you put your own unique twist on it, in your own style, it'll be something you'll love for years. The resale value of the discontinued charms seems to rocket too!

with pandora opening more stores every day it seems, how do we know when a trend like this dies? also i think mizing it with other bracelets can keep it looking fresh and current longer

Unfortunately I think they are trendy. Remember those gorgeous & pricey slide charm bracelets & the zoppini charm bracelets. They are both dated now.

Oh my I totally forgot about the slide charm bracelets because I havent seen anyone with one on in years. Even though I dont own one, I do like the Pandora bracelets and sure hope Pandora dosent die out like those did.

At the age of 35 I now know my own style. I buy Pandora because I love the style and will continue to wear it even if it goes out of favour because I buy it because I love it and not because its the current "in" thing.

However, the OP states she only wants to buy timeless pieces these days. Therefore maybe Pandora (however much I love it) isn't the thing for her, since we can't predict how people will feel about it in ten years time - although Trollbeads have been arounds since 1976 and are still going strong.

i really do feel these are trendy. bc of that i dont want to pir anymore $ into my bracelet- it is already worth $500 and i feel like ive spend enough and it is only half finished. anyone else feel this way?

I love classic chain charm bracelets with the dangly charms, but Pandora/Troll and other similar beads seem too trendy to me. Again, it all depends on your personal style, so if you love it go for it. I would go for a dbty bracelet instead if that's an option, or a more traditional charm bracelet.

I agree, the Pandora and Troll bracelets are too trendy and with the problem of fake bracelets they are not appealing at all, sorry to say as I know there are big Pandora/Troll fans on this board but I think they (despite the unbelieveable prices) look cheap and tacky. I have a "traditional" charm bracelet; started off with a plain gold chain and over years have collected gold charms - where-ever I am always have a nosey in the stores for charms and people always know what to get me as a gift! My charm bracelet represents my life and travels and I adore it! With the cost of gold its getting much more expensive to buy charms so haven't bought any for a while now, perhaps if you start a traditional style bracelet you could go for silver? There seems to be a lot more selection of silver charms too.

I have many of these beads and I do enjoy my bracelets a lot, but I am not buying as many as I used to. I love that you can design them to suit your own personal taste. From Cute Pinks to wood beads to more expensive All gold n SS...

The only thing that realllllllllyyy bothers me are those multiple fakes we get at Sears and JCpenny....for just 30 bucks!!! But then again thats the case with Tiffany Silver stuff aswell....many Fakes or similar looking cheaper stuff....

Trendy. If they're around 10 years from now and won't look dated then, I will be surprised. The interest in charm bracelets as a category definitely comes and goes.
