How do you Pandora ladies feel about using the safety chain. My bracelet is full, but I haven't added the chain yet. What are your thoughts on it? If I do get the chain, it will be the 14k/ss one, but I don't know which size to pick.

Just a teeny tiny personal experience that nearly left me in tears...
I will never wear my bracelet without a safety chain on again. My bracelet came off once, thought I lost it forever (found it by some miracle), did not feel it come off my wrist at all. For me, my bracelet is too expensive and precious to not have a safety chain on. All my bracelets now have a safety chain on.

I have an all animal one - grouped into animals the "live together" farm animals, African animals, pets...lol, I am a bit anal like that, and I have a spacer b/t every bead, plus two flower beads (...so they have something to eat!)

I have safety chains on 4 of my 5 bracelets, I always thought I would get the last one at some stage, but was in no real rush, because I always thought they were so heavy that I would feel it slip off.
Got dressed one day, put on my bracelet, and went to turn the key in the front door on my way out - no bracelet on my wrist, it had fallen off, and I didn't feel a thing! Luckily it was on the bedroom floor, but it scared me.
My friend was wearing hers to a Drs appointment, went to use the bathroom, and as she got up from the toilet her bracelet fell into the toilet bowl! She had to put her hand into her own pee, and get it out, as she was too scared to flush it first.
Good enough reasons to get a safety chain?...lol

I swear by the safety chain. I hated the way that they screwed off, so I put a clip in front of each end, and it worked like a charm (no pun intended!!). I now know that the bracelet isnt going to fall off, and that the safety chain will stay put!!!!

I actually went to look at safety chains today but am still hesitating for some reason. Do you girls find that the chain part tarnishes more than the beads? I've had that experience with other bracelets and it's a nightmare to keep shiney.

Kandi...your bracelet is beautiful:) After all the stories here I guess my next purchase WILL be the safety chain, and NOT another bead.Better safe than sorry...plus it will look like 2 more ;)beads anyway

I have a safety chain (SS and gold hearts) and actually it looks like two very SMALL beads. My chain is the smaller size (about 2") vs. the 3". I think you would only get the 3" if you have a really large wrist/bracelet, say the 8.3+.

I didn't think I would like a chain, but when I scored one at a great buy on the Bay, I loved it immediately, for security and for the added glitz.

One nice thing, if you fumble a bit sometimes when clasping your bracelet on, you can grab the chain with one finger to help position the bead ends together. So it's useful for that reason also.

I don't like them because they screw off. Too bad they can't clip at the end instead then I'd get one for sure.
I have clips at each end of my bracelet so the charms won't ride up on the threads by the closure. That still leaves the threads visible. I guess I would have to try the safety chain on to see if it would slide down the threads. I think having the clips, with a chain, attach to those threads would be a great idea!

For everyone who recommended the safety chain, you all made good points. The bracelet has become very costly and I would not want to replace it. Although it's insured, I don't want to lose it! I think I will go to my Pandora vendor and give it a try:tup:

Thanks!!

That's a great idea! I get so ticked when my beads screw off the end. On our way home from Europe I had to take my bracelet off because it beeped going thru security. I quickly took it off and threw it in the bowl. Sure enough, as I was walking away from the check point, I noticed my suitcase charm was gone, it threaded its way off the bracelet. Thankfully I went back and found it lying on the floor. I can see the safety chains doing the same thing but you changed my mind and I may have to try it (with clips).

Oh wow thank goodness you noticed it was missing and it was still there when you went back...that is scary.
