Hi all. Just a gentle reminder that we cannot buy/sell/trade on this thread as we don't want to get shut down.

As for me, I haven't been posting as I am just so crazy busy with work. Major fund raising event that took all my time and now digging out from underneath along with writing some grants and lobbying for the arts to be included in the PA state budget.

But through it all I have Pandora on my wrist. In fact, they've been serving as my "worry beads" at the moment.

Hope everyone is well!

OMG i hope that wont happen to me any time soon i would be pretty depressed!
Anyways can you pm me and let me know what you are doing with your beads....thanks

Actually, I'm not depressed at all. I honestly feel quite liberated. I did some rearranging last night, and I got down to 8 bracelets with ease. I thinking about letting another 2 go. And if I were to really go for broke, I could get down to 5. I wouldn't be surprised if in another month or so I'm there. I think that would be a comfortable number for me. I'll just do it in stages.

If the bracelets or beads aren't bringing you joy, then it sounds like it is time to part with them. I also can understand how you can get caught up in the whole browsing, shopping and collecting of things. I have that collection-bug myself. The cost of these beads have kept my collection to 2 bracelets. However, if money wasn't an issue, I could see myself getting swept away with needing a bracelet in every color.

Enjoy what you have and if it doesn't make you uncomfortable to part with some...then go for it.

Yeah, I am a major obsessive collector. If I find something I like I typically go WAYYYYY overboard. So while this is a bit more expensive then my other collecting freak outs, it is certainly not out of the ordinary for me. So yeah, I think I need to get rid of the dead weight in order to feel good about what remains so in the long run I don't feel bad about any of it.

Hi Ladies,

I haven't been here for a few weeks. I expected the number of posts I had to read to be triple what it actually is! I guess everyone is on vacation, or at least on vacation from the forum?

I've done quite a bit of thinking the last couple of weeks and I've decided to dismantle and sell about half of my collection. That's a LOT of dismantling, but I think it will leave me with a more meaningful selection of bracelets.

The first to go is my gold bracelet, I think the only day I ever LOVED it was the first day it was finished. This is actually very surprising to me, since I was always a gold girl, never a silver girl, but when I actually sat down and looked at the bracelets that I LOVE they are all the ones that have meaning, not the ones that are themed. My gold bracelet is definitely themed, since most of the gold beads I have don't have any meaning to me. I'll keep a few of the gold beads, but most of them are going, along with the bracelet.

If I could be really strong and really brave, I'd probably end up with only 2 out of my 10+. I'm not sure I'm ready for that much of a drastic cut yet, but I think I'll get there eventually. I'm starting to realize that my obsession with more more more actually caused me to end up with so much that it diluted my love for the first bracelet that actually started it all. I went back to my jewelry box yesterday and pulled that one out and realized it's probably the least flashy of any of my bracelets. Almost no gold, no stones; it does have a few muranos, but ones that have meaning, not just for show. And I LOVE it, absolutely LOVE it.

Oh well, sorry for the ramble. I figured I pretty much went through this crazy obsession with all of you, so I'd share this next phase I'm in too. On the plus side, I'm going to end up with some serious coin in my pockets. On the minus side (and this one I'm trying to forget), what I'll get back isn't even going to put a dent in what I shelled out! Ouch! Oh well, as we say a lot here.... It's only money.

I totally understand, I hope this works out well for you! I think I speak on behalf of all of us when I ask this: could you please take a group photo first?! :D I don't think I've ever seen 10 all together at once, it would be an amazing sight... I think I'd probably faint!!

I am only on my 2nd bracelet and already I'm accumulating tons of 'overflow' beads that i thought would work out but didnt, so they are just sitting there. I've been too lazy to sell them though, but I'm going to force myself to so I don't end up starting another bracelet just for a place to put them! I just don't want to end up with more than what I'll love and wear often, cause it seems it's an easy thing to do with these, and like you said you do lose money reselling them. Good luck!

Hi, everyone. Listening to everyone's posts, it's really a shame we don't have a forum somewhere that we can swap our beads. Anyone know of a site we can utilize for this. I'm a member of a mostly cosmetics forum and we swap on there. they do allow for accessories and I"ve been lucky to swap for a few things pandora. Any ideas?

Sorry, too late! I'm already down to eight.

Not to worry, it wasn't my intention to solicit offers.

Not you sweetie. Some of the newbies who ask us to post or pm may not be aware that there are strict rules for tPf. It's always good to remind us all what we can and can't do here. But I'm with cyndi, I wish there was a place to do what many of us would like to...

PS Can't you tell I am avoiding working on grants this morning! Next thing you know I'll be looking for beads again too!

I hear that!

Fortunately for me, today is a "Summer Friday" at work. I've been able to continue the heartless slash and burn on my Pandora collection. I'm now down to 7! I think I'm going to stick at this number for awhile. There might be one more that can go, but I've got a LOT of inventory to liquidate before I need to worry about that.

I don't think I can adequately express how good this feels! Now, if only the good feelings remain after the selling is complete. It's one thing to dismantle and put the unwanted in a pile. It's quite another to totally get rid of them, isn't it?

Hello,

I'm new to this site. I just heard about the Pandora jewelry. I was out to lunch with my Husband and we went into a little Jewelry store and they had all these beads that were beautiful. I was talking with the owner and she gave me a book on Pandora items. I really want a bracelet is there any places that you know to buy these beads at a discounted price? I would appreciate any feedback.

Thanks,
Pat

I went to my favorite local jewelers and exchanged my Green bunch of grapes charm. I only wore it one time and it's been sitting in my jewelry box. I didn't love it and it didn't mesh with my other beads. The jeweler was happy to exchange it. I got two ss clips for my second bracelet. I was waiting to buy the two tone, but I decided the extra expense for the little bit of gold on them was not worth it. Now I'm happy happy happy because my beads stay put.

welcome to the dark side. LOL. not really discount, but you can get some deals on ebay. If you read back through the posts, you can find some of the reliable dealers many of us use. Also, most pandora stores have promotions and/or "trunk shows" whereby you purchase a set amount and get something free. For example, my store will have in Sept a buy any item, get a free bracelet. Right now, they're having a buy $150, get the clasp opener free, which is a bit much for me. Try the store locator on pandora.com to find stores near you and call and ask

i had to ask:D

you must be busy with all the selling, i can never get the motivation to take all the pics and look up all the info to put in an auction, im sure there will be a lot of happy buyers!

I just assign picture taking job to my husband. He really gets into it. Sets up a little photo studio, with the extra flashes and the backdrop. Totally a win/win situation. He enjoys taking the pictures and that gives me the time to look up the information I need for completing the listings.
