I like having the clips. It keeps the beads from getting caught up on the threads between the sections. I also have a clip on either side of the threads near the bead clasp for the same reason. The clips are beautiful, so why not use them. My completed Pandora is on page 8 of this thread, if you want to see how it looks.

Beautiful, risingsun! I love the gold/silver look. That is exactly how my necklace is working out to be. On pandora-beads.com, they explain very nicely how clips will work next to the bead clasp to keep regular beads from getting caught there. Thankfully, Pandora has quite a few clips to choose from so you don't feel cheated that you have to sacrifice that space.

Thanks for the advice - I was out today and found the most enthusiastic Pandora retailers I have ever encountered at a local mall :) When I explained the situation and that I wanted to buy the bead clasp... they offered to let me swap my existing bracelet and just pay the extra to upgrade to the new, longer, bead clasp chain! Wow :D That will save me about $40 :D (they didn't have it in my length so they are going to ring me when they have it in) - apparently they sell second-hand chains. Anyway, to return their good faith I decided I just had to get a bead (hem hem any old excuse :P) so I got the June birthstone - not because its my bday month but because it goes nicely :P

They showed me how the clasp works and whilst I certainly agree its pretty hard to open, at least it is easy to close (which is always the hardest bit!)

I feel kinda sad about saying goodbye to my original bracelet as it was my 21st present, but at the same time I'm sure my aunt will understand and appreciate that I need a new one because I loved the original so much that I filled it up too much!

And btw I LOVE www.pandora-beads.com. I actually found it before I found this forum :) I don't know any other website that offers so many completed bracelet sample ideas :)

I cannot say enough nice things about that website OR the great people there. I was originally confused about the two different style necklaces and the local Pandora dealer did nothing to initially point out the difference to either my husband when he bought them -or- to me when I came in complaining about the bead clasp. I called pandora-beads and not only did they explain how the clips appear differently on both necklace types, but they amended their site to clear up any confusion a buyer might have when trying to decide which necklace chain to buy. I WAS AMAZED at the quick response.

Sooooo.....I ordered my next Pandora bead and lobster-style necklace from them, along with 2 travel boxes. I can literally walk to a gold Pandora dealer, but I felt I needed to reward pandora-beads with my business for taking the time with me. I'm in Michigan and they are in CA and I got my orders in 2 or 3 days! AMAZED AGAIN!

I'm hoping they participate in Pandora's trunk sales twice per year as I'm sure my next big haul will be in May when you can buy 4 beads and get 1 free! :yahoo:

I think your bracelet is awesome... so pretty :) I love how everyones are so totally different!

Thanks, SoonerOrLater and PandoraLover, for the kind words:smile1: I really enjoyed putting this bracelet together. It's nice that we can all have our own unique bracelets. I have a piece of plastic that I use to open the bead clasp. I can't do it with my nails or I'll ruin a perfectly good manicure! I'm waiting for that tool that they're promising for February release to make the whole process easier. In the meantime, look around your house and see if you can find something that will just fit in that clasp. It's made it much easier for me:tup:

Ok let me see if this works today...I had to take the pics in super crappy resolution to get them to upload but you get the idea...

What a touching story, and your bracelets are really beautiful :)

Oh, I agree! The story is wonderful and so are the bracelets!

Is that the dichroic ice (62014) bead on your winter bracelet? I've heard that this is a hot-cold bead for most people. My sister-in-law hates it and I've never seen it in person. She said it looks plastic. If that is the bead, what do you think? You must love it to use it several times.....

This is a great thread! I love seeing everyone's bracelets. I have one that I started last summer.
For opening the bead clasp----the store I bought most of the beads at now gives you a guitar pick when you buy a bracelet or beads. It works great!

Can you put Trollbeads on a Pandora bracelet and visa versa? We're taking a vacation to Amsterdam, a few places in Scotland and Ireland and also Paris. Are these something we could find over there to add to our collections?? We have three teen daughters going with us and I may want to start one for each of them before we go (cheaper with the price of the Euro and Pound.

They are not completely interchangeable, but I can't remember how it goes:sad: I think there are a few Troll beads that fit Pandora, but Pandora will fit on Troll. You would have to ask the vendor. Since Pandora originated in Denmark, I imagine you will find them in Europe:yes:
