But seriously, you have a point...😟
Given they only receive one bag a day at most and don’t know what it is until it comes in, and it requires a manager sign off to receive, and the bag sells right away…highly doubt it’s possible (or worth the effort).

But I suppose for regular boutiques with proper volumes of bags… who knows.

And as I said, she wasn’t particularly quiet about it, she seemed quite um…. Passionate about those products 😒

She also applauded how things were creatively utilized , like the cosmetic canvas bags being used as handbags, or Constance slims being utilized as crossbody bags (these things are pet peeves of mine).

I think she was very much supportive of H (real or not) being accessible to “everyone”. And so dupes were a pathway for that.

Anyway I tried to walk away three times before I was successful, she just kept going on and on! At one point I said I think you have a customer waiting to be helped so I’ll be on my way now , and she kept going on.

Finally I said I was late for my flight (I still had 2 hours left during this connection..) and darted out of there before I was to be associated with any of it.

Oh and when I asked her how come H doesn’t take any actions on these business knowing they are out there and who they are etc - she brushed it off and mumbled as long as they don’t put the Hermes logo on the bags it’s fine (I suppose legally it is but..)
Not sure why she’s biting the hand that feeds her. Surely she must understand those fakes are not good for her own job security. Unless of course she is part of the network that sells fakes.

I think this might a side hustle for her where she can earn a little commission for sending customers to a dupe factory.

I also find it extremely tacky when people repurpose cosmetic pouches/dust bags and wear them as going out bags. It just screams of desperation to me.

So much whining and entitlement overheard this week in Paris. The typical bag stuff, but also folks just complaining about waiting, sizes not being in stock, etc. H SAs have a hard job.

Now, not overheard, but told. We had visited both George V and FSH but only made it to Sevres yesterday. Firstly, most stunning H store that we have seen. Just so beautiful. So we make it up to the Petit H section and are just chatting with a very knowledgeable SA. We mention how beautiful the store is and he starts telling us about the history of the building. When they purchased the building, it was a swimming pool. The first floor is built on top of the pool. He took us back downstairs and pointed out that the floor tiles were placed to look like shimmering water and then showed us that the gutters of the pool are still in place in case a future tenant wants to convert it back into a pool one day. Just thought I’d share the cool tidbit for future visitors.

when i was in Paris in Oct i wasn't looking to visit H that day and accidently walked by Sevres. After your description, I wish I had stopped in!

In store right before Christmas picking up a last minute gift - tie for my fil. Waiting for my SA on the first floor I hear a customer on the second floor screaming at an SA that she knows they have bags in the back and she knows the SA is lying to her. It was insane. I’ve heard stories like this but woah! It was intense.
Some of these people are nucking futs! SMH

This is just insanity. The level of entitlement is off the charts. That poor SA.

No one should have to put up with that.

And this is why I always am a little skeptical when people say Hermes SAs are not super friendly. I wonder if they are always on edge waiting for a customer to loose their dang mind.
Me, too! I’ve posted on tPF before that many SAs warm up just as soon as they realize you know the brand (or are new to it and interested to learn) and aren’t going to hassle them about a bag. I find SAs guarded up until that point. While I haven’t seen a lot of bad behavior personally, I did witness one woman at the Meatpacking location in NYC trying to talk her way into a bag by listing what she had and what others she knew had, carrying on about how she wanted a specific style as her next bag. This must have gone on for at least 30 minutes. The SA listened patiently and complimented her collection, but skillfully kept reminding her the only bags they had were on display and suggested she go through her regular SA if she wanted a bag.
