I agree. It shouldn’t be passed onto the next customer but I feel that is likely what will happen. I returned one that had a dent in the handle and was sent one with the shallow and slouchy print. Finally the third was good. But for what we pay we shouldn’t have to work so hard for a quality bag. This has been more of a problem lately I’m finding. I got my first lv ten years ago and didn’t even think to check it over and same with the next two bags (6 & 8 years ago). All were perfect. Now I feel like I HAVE to check them coz of things like this.

Empriente Leather is either cowhide or calf leather. From my experience, the calf leather is softer and has a much lighter embossing compared to the cowhide because it’s more supple. Some people may prefer the softness vs. structure, but it’s not a defect. Personally, I like the deeper embossing and the structure so you are right to exchange…
