The stock situation is almost funny. I called my SA to order a SpeedyB and he said they had over 30 on the waitlist. In monogram! He's calling around but this seems to have been going on for a while. I could understand a less common bag but a Speedy?

You are certainly entitled to your opinion and I wish you luck in acquiring your material goods from the European craftsmen you admire.

Personally, I have pieces from France, Spain and the US and I’ve not had any issues at all nor have I noticed any difference in quality. As for a factory in Texas, my response is a resounding “YAAAYYYYYY!!!!:panic::yahoo::happydance: As I live in the wonderful state of Texas I hope my LV store is one of the first stops on the delivery trucks route. :graucho::lol:

I live in DFW area. Geez guess I gotta wait for them to be up and running before I can finally get this damn bag lol.

They need to be careful. People will get peeved off and turn to other brands. It’s ridiculous you have to be on a wait list for a mono speedy.

You’re absolutely right. LV’s “shortages” have allowed me to discover other brands that I never looked at before. Since late fall I’ve acquired a few Givenchy and Chloe bags. I’m exploring Celine & YSL too. In the past, I would’ve bought a few LV items in that time frame instead and would have never considered anything else. I’m loving my new brand discoveries. [emoji4]

Yeah, so I live in Texas, and this comment... just wow.

We have quite a few large and small factories here in Texas, as well as many smaller, artisan brands that produce wonderful quality products. We also have a pretty decent amount of experience in producing high quality leather goods - custom boots that cost as much as an Hermes bag, saddles, etc., so we may in fact have your old school artisans with their generations of experience passed down. Just because someone happens to be born in Europe does not mean they are automatically more skilled at creating a quality product than an American, African, Filipino, Canadian, or anyone else. (I also doubt most LV factory employees are old school artisans, instead of the reality of employees on a high tech factory assembly line. A recent Guardian article mentioned that, at least at the brand's factories in Romania, "the craft is not handed down through generations. Most of the workers are trained on site.") Do you truly believe that simply because your bag is stamped "made in France" it was hand-assembled by an old school artisan whose so-called "European craftsmanship" was learned through generations of family?

I live fairly close to where the new LV factory will be here in Texas. I think it will be very nice, offer more local jobs, and I'm excited for it. I own several LV pieces of various manufacture - US, France, Spain - and I personally notice NO quality difference in any of them. The last LV bag I purchased is made in USA, and that's fine with me. I assume that is due to the brand maintaining control and ensuring that the quality is the same in each facility regardless of location.
Agree with this. Also, there are YouTube videos showing how LV bags are made, such as
this link which was in an old thread .
And then there's this https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/for-the-curious-vuitton-lovers.941235/#post-30167107

I agree. It's very bad here in the US.

Even an LV employee I spoke with agreed it's bad, and that they don't feel like LV is giving them the resources (inventory) to meet their full sales potential ...
.
I've heard this from a couple of SAs recently. Also it's a very sad day for me - my SA text me a message last night that tomorrow is her last day. She's going to another brand, with better opportunities and less stress to make quotas. She's the 3rd SA which has left the store in the past 4 months. <smh>

If I can’t get what I want from LV I’’ve just been buying Chanel, Gucci and Burberry. For what I was going to pay for a Pallas Clutch I bought a Burberry bag and scarf (which I love). At least other designers will take my money that I am willing to spend and as far as I’m concerned it’s Louis Vuitton’s loss.
