Ordering online from Harrods.com from the U.S.?

I am being asked for SSN now as well for shipping from Paris for a $1400 item. It is under the $2500 amount per the website but it says some carriers like to have it anyway just in case. Not sure what to do

Has anyone ordered from Harrods for delivery to the US recently? If so, how was your experience? The Bottega bag I’m looking at comes to around $2300 (including duty, I think). I’m not comfortable giving out my SSN, so I’m hoping this wouldn’t be required for a purchase in this amount. Thanks!

Hey guys, can I ask something about the receipt of Harrods UK? Firstly, I apologize because it’s not relevant to the thread but I’m thrilled to know the answer and since I’m new member, I cannot start a new thread (I participated in several threads but still cannot). I noticed there’s a line said that the bag was in perfect condition and I don’t really understand it. Compare to others receipts of my friends, there’s no such line. And I don’t think Harrods sells used stuffs…
