Update:
I called CS & the rep could not have been more understanding & professional. Exceptional customer service. She sent me a new UPS label so that she could track it & issue the refund as soon as she could confirm the package was shipped back. She offered to ship out the correct bag but due to my vacation coming up, I declined & said I would buy in store.
Sad I had the issue but they handled it very well. Kind of felt bad she had to handle the mistake of someone else.
 
Okay, this is out of control! I ordered the new Charlie 28 in Navy with rivets. I even paid 2 day shipping (because I am going out of town & didn't want it sitting on my porch). It came today...is a regular size Charlie in Marine!
Gorgeous bag but not what I ordered, at all. It was not wrapped well, just thrown in the box in the dust bag with a few sheets of tissue paper. The tag & slip show the bag I ordered but it's not! What do I do? Will CS believe me?

CS believed me. They actually didn’t seem very interested or apologetic. I ended up returning the item at my local Coach store. I did want the original item I had ordered, but I dont want to risk (a) another mixup (b) getting an obviously used returned item. I understand that all of us return / have returned stuff. But when I returned my orders, trust me they were absolutely pristine - all the protective packaging was in place, I even tried to put the paper stuffing back in exactly the same way it came to me.

Sorry, I know I am ranting :(
 
I wonder if their shipping is short staffed or if they've changed shipping vendors or something? I have never had such issues with Macy's or Nordstrom, but I guess it depends on if it is sale season and which warehouse your bag shipped out of? I hope you can get the right one in store.

I wonder too! My sister ordered a Minnie kisslock wristlet and a Minnie key fob from the outlet sale, she received the key fob in those paper envelopes and no wristlet even though the packaging slip showed the two items were included in the package. They were very nice and understanding when she called and overnighted the wristlet to her which arrived nicely wrapped in a box like the ones you get when you order from retail. I’m sure they must have some security and can track exactly who packaged and where so they can confirmed (I would think?)

I agree. The order I received yesterday came from JAX and had no stuffing or padding on any of the hardware. One item was missing the dustbag and had a scratch on the hardware on front. The order that shipped from a store was still fully wrapped. I don't understand why they remove all the protective coverings and stuffing at the warehouse!? Maybe I received items that were all previously returned. No way I can return stuffed since it didn't come that way so the next buyer will get the same scratched bag.

I love ordering from a department store. Everything comes still in original packaging with all the stuffing.

I have ordered from a department store before and gotten my bags shipped from a store rather than a warehouse. In those cases, I didn't get protective packaging. Still, they were mostly OK. Store shipments really depend on the staff who are working. Some really pack nicely with ribbons and boxes and add the receipt sleeve. Some throw it in a dustbag without tags or receipt in a bag too big. I really need to work in Customer Logistics at some of these brands. It's driving me mad.

Ugh.... what's with Coach lately?! I requested a giftbox for my swagger but didn't get one, they didn't even tape the shipping box shut!! I got soooooo lucky the bag didn't get swiped by someone.
 
I got an order today (department store) and the box was too short for the length of the bag, so the soft leather corners were scrunched up and dented in. If the bag wasn't missing coloring in several areas, I'd keep it.
But the scariest thing? They TAPED the price tag to the bag (it was already attached with a clear plastic tag string). I understand that whoever packaged this bag probably wanted it to look "neat & all in order with tag" so they double-rolled the tape on the back of the tag and affixed it to the front of the bag, but putting tape onto soft leather is ill-advised, you'd think. I am returning it, but I did remove that tape and am shipping back in a bigger box than what I received.

I think this proves that no one handles bags like someone who actually enjoys and loves them. Though, if I have to be nitpicky...I have only ever received GORGEOUS and careful packaging from Tory Burch online, and I never even asked for gift packaging.

Oh no! I ordered my mom a keychain and asked for a gift box. The store it shipped from put in its mini dustbag and I found a sticker in the bottom of the huge outer box. No gift box lol.
