We seem to be pretty similar in size in footwear. Are your feet wide? Mine are medium width, and I purchased my Orans in a size 38.5. I almost wish I got them in a size 38, because my foot pushes a little forward in them. If you're a 38.5 or 39 in other designer shoes, 40 will be too big. I'm usually a 38.5 in designer shoes, but took my Chanel espadrilles in a 40.

Yes the Chanel espadrilles are odd, aren't they? 39 was too snug for my liking and so I went with 40. Even after several uses, 40 is still okay (I thought it would expand but didn't, really).
So with Orans I should probably target trying out a 38 or 38.5. Thanks!!
I also wanted to add... Mine has stretched A LOT after wearing! To the point I had to add those transparent half sole pads to the front as they would fly off my feet when I walked.

It seems that foot width really matters with Oran sandals.
It's not meant to be. I'm convinced my cousin's Oran will not fit me.
not only was she willing to let it go for cheap, its unused and in the color gold (brown). Haha. Oh well. Next time!

I haven’t had my orans for very long, but they have not stretched out at all yet.
Also, FYI, just in my experience they run true to size or maybe even a little big, I dont think I would get a larger size.

The front strap gets definetely wider as the sole gets longer with each half-number-
It might not hold your foot in place and your foot could slide right on through.
I find sandals the hardest style to fit my feet.
