I think you are definitely paying for the name there, crazy price! For that much money you could get like a Chanel bag and still have more left over! Or diamond studs. So many options LOL! Personally I would keep the links of london, I have it in the silver w/ some gold links on it and I think its cute! I think that the tiffany bracelet in gold might look tacky and is ALOT of money! You can find similiar for alot cheaper.

I say keep what you have- the price of gold, per ounce, is so obscene right now that I've been putting off any major jewelry purchases until the price stabilizes some.

Rosie,

If you really want the bracelet, get it. Everyone has slightly different reasons for getting a bracelet, ring, bag, jacket etc. Also, seeing that despite the responses from others, you still want the bracelet, if you settle for something else, you will still crave the Tiffany's heart bracelet.

When you purchase jewelry from Tiffany's, Cartier, Van Cleef, you are always paying for the brand. However the brand does include workmanship in addition to reputation. Many of the reputable independent jewelers in the NYC area I know seem to charge about the same prices as Tiffany for comparable jewelry. I could just have very little knowledge in general, but jewelers I like tend to be in the same price range with Tiffany's.

I have one gold bracelet from Tiffany's and I wear it everyday. I don't feel the urge to buy other bracelets and it's very well made. I would recommend Tiffany's gold jewelry if you are willing to pay the price, but only you can decide that.

Finally, I would suggest you keep your charm bracelet as well. You never know when you might like to wear it again, and if you sell it, you will regret not having it handy. I never get rid of jewelry (I do let my mom borrow some of the pieces that I might not be wearing currently though :o)).

Good luck with your decision,
Diana

when you buy a designer piece, you ARE paying alot for the name... I think you shouldn't sell your charms, keep them and i suggest that you either get it in silver and have a good jeweler dipp it in yellow gold or save up and get the bracelet when you can.... Good luck in what you end up doing..
