Opinions on this Cartier Panthere Bracelet

I just bought this yellow gold bracelet in Italy. I first tried it on in Vegas while I was wearing an older Panthere maillon bracelet of mine (see pic). I knew I was going to Italy soon and I did some math and decided to buy it there. (I bought it at the Venice store, SA name is Ruyi, and I’m glad I did. I think I received patient and personal service because they weren’t as busy as Florence or Rome even with an appointment. I did contact them 2 months in advance on WhatsApp to get yellow gold jewelry in my size transferred there. The piece I bought had to be brought in from another country. The Venice SA also confirmed via text what the price would be after VAT refund.) My hubby thought the Panthere was so beautiful that he was happy to get it for me. It’s a huge splurge. It is a showy piece. I’ve worn it during the day but I feel like I need to take off most of my other jewelry so it’s not too much. My everyday wear are diamond studs, a yellow gold diamond Maillon ring, and a yellow gold/diamond JUC necklace. I also have a diamond yellow gold tank watch which I wear occasionally. I am afraid that the bracelet would be scratched easily if worn on same wrist as tank watch. I did consider the half diamond version and the no diamond version of the Panthere. I also don’t have any JUC or Love bracelet and they brought those in for me to choose from. We preferred this one the best even though I am unsure if it would retain it’s value compared to the more popular collections. It’s so beautiful to look at.

My opinion is this is better alone. It is incredibly beautiful. Maybe the most beautiful piece of any Cartier jewellery! If you combine it with anything else on the same wrist it looks too busy and the beauty of the pathers’ heads do not come out. It is like a piece of art as it is. I would personally prefer Rose Gold over Yellow Gold. For me Yellow Gold looks a little loud. Rose Gold is more restrained and sophisticated. The color is of cause very personal thing. I’m not good in telling how it fits the skin color.

Now I have a question to you! I am a man who has never used jewellery too much. I have always loved to watch these on others. I have considered to be brave an buy this particular Panther Bracelet to myself! I have only once seen a photo of a man wearing it. It looked totally fine to me. Men use nowadays a lot bracelets and this does not look more feminine than some other bracelets which are officially meant for men or are unisex. Cartier lists this as a women’s bracelet. What do you think could this me worn by a man?

many thanks
Oh YES! This could certainly be worn by a man...a man with great taste! I think it would be wonderful.

Hello! I know this is an old thread but wanted to revive to get some opinions. I’m considering the plain yellow gold panthere bracelet and/or either the small plain or pave panthere ring and was wondering about everyone’s experience with wear and tear. I do plan to wear more regularly and was wondering how they hold up, say relative to the love line. Thanks I’m advance!

I have the Panthere watch in yellow gold. It’s actually from the 80’s and it has worn very well. There have been years that I’ve worn it every single day and then years when I’ve switched between that watch and another. I know it’s not exactly the same as the bracelet but it is composed of the same links (if it’s the bracelet I’m thinking about). It’s so ”silky” and comfortable on the wrist. I just love it. If you’re crazy about little scratches beware. It’s like every other 18kt gold piece and will develop a little bit of a patina where it touches your desk or where it rubs. Personally, I like a lived in look. It‘s beautiful to me. I could have it buffed but I feel no need. I think it it was perfect years ago when I got it and I still think it’s perfect with all the wear over the years.

You may be considering the rigid Panthere bracelet in which case, I can’t comment except to say that my Love bracelets have worn very well over the years. Cartier pieces are great quality in general so I say go for it...and enjoy!

I own the panthere watch as well but in stainless steel. I absolutely love the panthere line. It was my first Cartier piece. I don’t have anything from the love line… and am adding my second Cartier piece which I’ve been going back and forth on, between the panthere rigid bangle and/or ring… or love bracelet. I am weary of scratches though which makes me hesitate a bit! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!!

Hi! From the forum and my own experience, scratches show up more on the Love (due to its flat surface) than on the Panthere rigid bracelet or JUC (Curved surface). I wear the Love and JUC every day and the Panthere occasionally. Don’t have the rings tho would love to get them one day :) Good luck with your choice! I personally love the Panthere more than the Love :)
