Opinions on the skinny tote?

I love my bag so much! My only fear is that the straps are so skinny that the handles are not going to last if I over stuffer it. I have the carmine color, and its pretty good against the rain with most if not all the water marks disappearing in like an hour or 2 . However she will get some light scratches being that the leather is so soft, but I use the leather conditioner from Coach and it fixes it. Also for consideration, the tote will sadly not fit a macbook 13".

Thanks so much for responding. I hope the skinny straps won't be a problem. Hopefully the stitching is reinforced really well. Good to know about how it fares in the rain since I live in Florida and it usually rains a lot during the summer. If there's a chance of rain, I try to carry a plastic bag inside my purse so if I get caught in the rain I can put my purse in it to protect it, lol. The leather is so soft and luscious. I got the coach leather conditioner so will use that need be, providing I end up with the tote. :)

Thank you for your input!

Asking another question regarding this bag. Still on the fence. If you have this, what do you put in the outer two compartments? They look rather narrow width wise and I'm thinking most anything will bulge out unless it's just papers or something flat.

I sometimes use mine for a school tote on days that I don't need to carry as much. I tend to put papers that I've printed for a class in one of them and my phone in the other. But other than that I use the main body as a blackhole

Thanks for this info. I'll more than likely be starting a new project in Florida and was considering a new leather travel bag. I think I'll just keep using my Tumi tote because it will withstand the unexpected afternoon down pours!

Good idea! In addition to carrying a plastic bag in case of rain, I also had flip flops with me in case it was pouring and I didn't want to ruin my shoes. :)

I have work papers on one side and phone, work Id, and work key on the other side, so not a lot (and doesn't bulge) but it's enough to make me feel organized so I can get to things I need just reaching in and not digging around. I love the simplicity of this tote and the beautiful leather and leather lining. Keep us posted on your decision.

I haven't worn mine yet, but I really don't see needing to really carry much of anything in the side pockets.

I guess since I love my Phoebes because I like compartments to help keep me organized, I was hoping I'd get some organization with the tote too. But, I've been accustomed to my Tatum whipstich tote and my Nomads which only have one compartment, so I guess it's not a big deal. Even if I just put receipts in the outer pocket, that will help keep the main compartment clutter-free.

I have to say, I never had the skinny tote on my radar. I thought it was just, well... TOO SKINNY!! BUT, I grabbed one the other day for work and I was shocked by how much I packed in it! I was going to a two-day, off-site meeting, so I did not want to carry my work bag and a handbag. I had my computer and my Levenger 8.5 x 11in notebook in the center section; I had my wallet, two cell phones, keys and some snacks in one side, and then I brought home a stack of cards from the meeting on the last day and nicely stuck them in the other side! The bag is amazing!!!!!

Thanks for sharing what you put in yours. I do like some organization if possible so as I told Hobbsy, even if I just put receipts in one side, that will help. And use the other side for papers or work badge. I'll figure it out. :)

Was really leaning towards the tabac with the beautiful carmine lining. But since I wear jeans a lot (I wear nice jeans to work) the smoke might be the way to go. Will post once I decide...

Wow!!! Ok. You did it. You pushed me over the edge. Just have to decide on a color. That carmine/beechwood combo is gorgeous!!

Thanks for your input and the great pics!!! I really appreciate it.

You bet! You will not regret the purchase! I was planning on getting the smoke color myself, but once I got in and saw them all side by side, this one just stood out to me. BUT, both are stunning! Enjoy!!!!

Good things come to those that wait...

So, after everyone's input, I ended up not getting anything. First, they didn't have smoke in-store so she'd have to order it for me, but I didn't want her to bother. But more importantly, I had a lot of home expenses - new roof, new patio ceiling and ceiling fans thanks to a leak, AC repair, etc. so I prioritized and decided not to buy a bag I didn't need. Well, I never "need" any of them. I have enough bags to last a lifetime or two. I also wondered if it might come out in some new colors so I decided to pass this go around.

This morning I got a text from my SA saying they have the smoke in-store and it's on sale, for less than I would've paid for during the other sale. It was fate! I said I'd stop by after work. Decided I didn't want to wait until after work because I'd just be thinking about it all day, so I went over my lunch hour. And now I have a smoke skinny tote. :)

This is a bag that I'd get in multiple colors if I could, it's that gorgeous. But for now, the beautiful smoke will suffice. Thank you everyone again for your input!
