Opinions on 28 versus 32 kelly

I have a 28 box kelly and found it too small for everyday use, plus I like to carry it on the crook of my arm and found it too small that way, it just didnt feel right.
So I have upgraded to a vintage black box kelly 32, shes just had a a new handle and clochette and is in excellent condition. I can definitely tell the difference, and has much more room.
Then again I do find the 28 better for evenings and the 32 for daytime use.

I have a kelly 28, it fits my constance wallet iphone makeupback and loads of other stuff just fine
it is difficult to get a sense of scale
If you don't have access to the real bags, why not make a cardboard cutout and hold it against yourself - no amount of blind advice can substitute for a physical representation.
Kellys are also slightly trapezoidal and, regardless of size, have a different look to briefcases.
The starting size for briefcases tends to be 38,
although there was a smaller (34) Kelly Sac a Depeches.

This looks like a 25 to me. I compare the width of the bag to a woman's hip. The camera makes the bag look a size bigger.
So true! I am glad I kept my 32 though, because I sense a need for a bigger Kelly on the horizon
And phones! Remember when we'd carry a phone AND an iPod?
Not that I am the arbiter of anything, but I can see the pendulum swinging back. Maybe in another year or two, but it’s coming! For me, the different sizes are all useful.
Yes!!! And dont forget agendas - I know many still do, but pretty much everything is on my phone now!
im bumping this bc I feel that same way after years of sellier 28 only (in 2008, when I started with 28 kelly sellier on TPF, everyone wanted 32 retourne). A 32 Box sellier recently came into my life and it’s a perfect addition, though noticeably bigger on the inside. @Rockerchic also piqued my interest re the scale of the 32 sellier a while back with her Renee Z and the croc Kelly thread. https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/trying-to-decide-on-my-next-kelly.1027863/ IMO, both are great day bags and are casual worn with jeans). I dont habitually take a 28 to dinner in restaurants bc i usually keep my bag behind my back in the chair, and it’s not always comfy in some small NY restaurants. If it can sit beside me in a banquette, it’s fine.
here is my blue grey (looks blue abysse in pics, but is darker and more gray IRL) 28 sellier box kelly and my 32 prune/raisin (looks prune in pics but slightly more purple IRL) box kelly, both brushed phw, loving restored and rendered somewhat weather resistant by @docride. I’m 5’2”, but not petite, medium build, larger shoulder, about a size 40 French RTW and trying o diet back into a 38 (to give you an idea of size) Note: I do not wear them open like the pic. I usually belt them under the flap for easier access. I carry a box Kelly longue wallet, sunglasses, keys, mask and gloves. With the 32, I can also carry DHs sunglasses with room to spare. (Retourne holds more)
