Oh that tote is soo cute! I loved it in the catalog too... I thought it was bigger though - the description on line says it's only like 12.5" by 13.5"... unless the one in the catalog is a larger version. I will have to go look.

I have the Katy and I love it - but I am so afraid I am going to damage it (or "her" as I like to say) :rolleyes: .


OH - if you search for "stripe" on the COACH site you can see some of the watercolor stuff. It's REALLY cute and of course already on my wishlist. :O)

I don't think the katy is to floppy or unstructured...I think mine holds its shape very well.....but it is delicate.

As far as the vachetta....I think you need to appreciate it for what it is. The trim on my messenger is vachetta...and I freaked out the first time it got wet.....but its developed the beautiful patina that the vachetta is supposed to develop....and I think its beautiful....I prefer it to the "fresh" vachetta before it gets any use.

I like it too and thought it wanted it and would return my unused Katy. However, I'm also wishing it didn't have the untreated Vachetta. It's more than just trim, there is quite a bit of it and I don't have experience with it to know if over time the patina will even out even if at first it might be splotchy. I was talking about it to the ladies that work at the boutique tonight and they both said they would never buy it due to the untreated Vachetta.

I considered exchanging my Katy Tote for this one but there are several reasons why I choose not to do so. First the Vachetta leather on this is going to get pretty dirty, although it is gorgeous, this new Oxford Tote is more of a tote purse rather than a large tote as the Katy is. With the Katy I can easily put a change of clothes, some folders and books as well as my legacy planner in and everything fits with its 20 inch width compared to the Oxford's which is around 14 I believe. Also I am not big on the faded canvas on this one it looks too summery and I want to carry mine all year. I also have the legacy planner the coin purse, the french purse and the ipod holder, I had to have the Katy.

What do you all think, the Katy or the new oxford one, do you all like the legacy stripe on canvas?
