Im off to Paris on the 11th December in hope of finding a 30cm black birkin with ghw. I am looking for either togo or clemence. I will only be in Paris for one day. Thanks to the wonderful, informative posts on here i have picked up some great tips. The 11th December is a Friday so hopefully more deliveries in store! My flight gets in at 09.55 (fingers crossed for no plane delays) so i intend to hotfoot it off the plane and into the nearest cab. Hopefully depending on traffic i should reach FSH by 10.45. I am aware i should visit all three Hermes boutiques at least twice that day. Does anyone have any further tips? Due to the inventory section on Purse Forum i was able to purchase my first birkin (gold, 30cm clemence) from the Bond St boutique and im hoping Purse Forum might be lucky to me again. I Will be taking my camera so i intend to take as many pics as possible of the windows display and record as much inventory as i can remember. Wish me luck!!

I'd say it's a BAD idea to take a cab into city.. The jam near the stadium was BAD.. If you dont have much luggages, I'd suggest that u take the metro. It's the fastest way to get into the city.

Rue de Grenelle boutique has got very limited collection of birkins. When i was there in late Oct, they only had a JPG BJ Birkin sitting on the shelf. FSH is def ur best bet.

George V and FSH are within walking distance from each other. At least to me :p

As for Rue de Grenelle, u will need to take the metro there from FSH, cos it's on the 7th Arr..

Thank you for your reply. My flight gets in to terminal 2b at CDG. So you definitely wouldn't reccomend getting a cab from the airport? Is it relatively easy to get from the terminal to the airport metro station. Im really nervous already because i know im cutting it fine to have a chance at the monring delivery!

I agree with Felle - opt for the metro instead.

However, because it's peak hour, the metro will take about an hour to Gare du Nord (the main transfer station). Assuming you are going directly to FSH, you will need to change trains at least twice again to get on the correct line.

I don't know how Felle walks to George V from FSH!! (I am lazy! LOL :p) - you can always take the metro since it is near both stores (just walk about 1-2 mins)

It is more difficult to get a Birkin at George V, because they keep most of their best stuff for their regulars and I have never seen any on the shelf. FSH is your best bet!

Very easy - just follow the signs that take you to the trains into Paris. There are also ticket counters and machines that you can buy your tickets from. I suggest getting your tickets from the tourist information counter in the terminal itself (NOT at the station) because the lines there are usually shorter than at the station. They have all the different types of metro tickets - 1-day pass, single ticket etc.

my flight arrived earlier 7am, I tok a cab, still take quite a while to reach the hotel, and I am staying pretty near FSH. Mine is Terminal 1

it is easy to take metro/trains in france. jst do a bit of homework, and it will be fine

The SA told me they will have new stock coming in for Xmas, so good luck on your quest:D

knightbridge1, you'll have to work out which lines to take. And im guessing u'll have the station's office to check, or at least the information counter at the airport to ask. Have u been to Paris and used the metro before? You might wanna research on the internet for the possibility. I cant help much on this one, cos I did not take the metro on my last trip (always have too much luggage! heehee)

I cant remb which terminal I landed at the other time, but you'll surely pass by the stadium, near which, there'll likely be a jam in the morning. It took me over an hour to get from the airport to city the other time round.

If u're not an EU resident, u may need to also factor time taken to clear the customs and collect ur baggages.

Heehee, I pref walking than climbing the huge amount of stairs with the metro. But then again, I was doing the walk at a leisurely pace, where i cld stop and nick into the stores along the way :graucho:

You can walk from FH to GV, I've done it! If they say there is a Birkin waiting there for you, you will do it!

No, if i were u, i'd prob run! LOL!
