Also Saphire have you thought about depot-ventes? Catherine B (near M: St-Sulpice/Mabillion/Odeon) has tons of Kellys, and there is another one Asphodèle. 44 RUE DU FAUBOURG MONTMARTRE 75009 Paris that usually has a few Kellys for around 1500 (very good prices compared to Catherine B).
Just a thought...

Same here, no Birkin or Kelly at FSH two weeks ago when I was there. Birkins were reserved for pre-orders and VIPs to purchase as I saw SA took out a few boxes for someone apparently their 'VIP'. I didn't see Kelly at all...The shop was as busy as a wet market even at 6pm, which made me feel awful...People believed Cannes film drove more customers there + French opening. Having said that, I only spent 3 days to do the search and I thought it's just me being unlucky - Do keep trying and good luck!

I was there at the end of May - saw Birkins being purchased but no Kellys at FSH because I was looking for one. I was told that they were expecting a shipment in on that Friday afternoon but luckily found what I want at the Left Bank store by way of George V. I liked George V much better and found the whole experience more relaxing. BTW, I did also work with Nathaniel who was super nice but I did note that he wasn't willing to check the inventory of the other two stores.

LittleH - there were no Kellys on the shelves - actually, inventory seemed low on the shelves (not accounting for what they have in the back room) while I was there. I was very surprised because even in our local H, there is always a Kelly (or two) on the shelf.

Another vote here for George V - it's where I scored my birkin

Hey ClassicTwist - I remember that it was you who first advised me to try George V in my first post ever! Thank you for that post.

I found George V to be a more welcoming environment because it's smaller. I actually saw SAs come up to people to ask for help whereas FSH's atmosphere felt a bit more remote and business-like. Hard to explain the vibe. I love to people-watch and observe so my 30 minute wait at George V allowed me to do this.

BTW, I had no doubt that there was probably a Kelly or two lurking in the back for those VIPs because Nathaniel kept saying "There's one or two bags on order so let me see if they are even available." He came back each time and said "No." This was at FSH. I have no plans to go back to FSH in the future unless I happen to be around the neighborhood. I am planning to do all my purchases at George V. Just personal preference.

It is almost impossible now to get birkins from Paris because the weak euros and the detax makes it too profitable for resellers to send the army of birkin and Kelly buyers. So for casual buyers, you will be competing with at least 20 professional hunters each day.

Just look at the bag section and you will see Asian buyers everywhere with nothing Hermes on them. You know they buy to sell and they come in every day 10 times a day till they get a bag. Sometimes very rude and pushy. And any bag you are likely to get will probably be the ones resellers don't want.

Unless you are looking for a bag to sell for profit, I suggest you develop your relationship with an sa, and then maybe, after sometime, she will get you your birkin... Otherwise, go down the reseller route and let someone elso do the leg work.

The colors were BJ and chocolat.

I was looking for another bag but they didn't have anything suitable so my SA asked if I'd like a birkin. I have bought from her before though, so that may have made a difference.

Its the end of the season which might be why there are not taking orders. Last year when I went for the summer sale I was not able to place an order but there were bags in the store - there were no shortfall of kellys but the birkins were not that easy to get.
