I note that this thread is about chloebagfreak's joy in receiving her Gucci HG. I had reason to mention the hardware issue in relation to care of the bag.
Thank you but there is no need for authentication of my loafers. I bought them from Net-a-porter and Gucci Australia has offered to replace the horse bits.
I live in what is called a 'maritime environment', that is I live by an ocean beach with a lot of salt spray in the air, with fairly high humidity too.
Unfortunately this sort of thing can happen to metals if you live in a coastal environment, even with great care and even to Gucci products.
So, here is my beautiful Lady Web - and my suede fringed loafers (from 2015) too

Thank you for this and PM. I'll address you just here since others may be interested and nothing has been said that is personal to you. There seems to have been a misunderstanding. I don't question the authenticity of any Gucci product of anyone's unless the owner or would-be buyer questions it her./himself unless a pic is posted as authentic when clearly not (in which case I would contact them by PM for more pics etc). It was in the spirit of general advice on hw and suede for all.
You mentioned where you live as a specific environment as a contributing factor which sounds likely. I was merely reassuring Gucci's hardware should be sound longterm and suggested that if any product with hardware falls under warranty the item should be returned ASAP for repair or replacement.
On your shoes specifically (apologies to the OP). Though I'm not a lawyer, Gucci make promises with guarantees which they should keep. Since your shoes are quite new I'd expect Gucci to replace the hardware at no cost unless it was made clear to you before purchase that Gucci could do nothing if they tarnished, where you live shouldn't matter. Whether or not a purchase made through N.A.P. would alter conditions of that guarantee I don't know but it's something you may like to follow-up in case a charge is made somewhere down the line.

Ha! I too called my nearest Gucci outlet for this bag and the phone just rang and rang. . Woodbury, NYomg! i have been lusting over this bag (or the brown leather). do you know if they have other versions/colors of this bag on sale as well? And if you dont mind me asking, how much was it?
