The SA did help me decide between the suede and the smooth ,harder leather. He told me the smoother leather scratches really easily. I have a couple Mansur Gavriel bags, so I get that scratches are part of the beauty, but not at Gucci prices :smile::smile:

I haven't sprayed mine...yet. Not sure what I'm going to do in the long term. So far I've brushed it with a soft suede brush after each use and only taken it out in fine weather. No pens allowed anywhere near!!!! My black and navy suede bags have never been treated and they're in great shape but this colour is a bit different. Sorry for the long ramble! I deliberately didn't use my Lady Web over winter (Sthn hemisphere) so I've only just taken it out again and the treatment issue is top of mind :smile:
One thing I've noticed with some of my Gucci horse bit loafers is that the metal bit has tarnished on a couple of my newer pairs, so I'm going to pay extra special attention to keeping the Lady Web hardware in good order. I live in a salty, beach environment so I always have to take special care of handbag hardware anyway, but the loafer experience has me on guard lol

Wow..that's weird about the hardware. I will have to keep an eye on it.
We don't usually have rain in October, so this makes me think I will wait a while to wear it. I just received my Ugg set of suede cleaner, suede protector and double sided soft brush. Nordstrom had it. So I will experiment with that.

So frustrating when you have a gorgeous bag and it sits and waits:)
I have the black Princetowns slide slippers, so hopefully that little hardware on top won't tarnish.

So hard to choose a Gucci bag these days, since so many of the designs are drool worthy :)

Congratulations, and may I say how perfect it looks on you.

I'm another suede Lady Web owner, I admit I did spray mine with protector but these bags are supposed to be loved and enjoyed so beyond that I don't worry.

I must also add that so far none of the hardware on anything Gucci has ever tarnished and we are talking a lot of items. My advice to anyone who has fairly new products that have gone that way should take them back to Gucci ASAP, they should never tarnish or chip

Hi papertiger,
I note that this thread is about chloebagfreak's joy in receiving her Gucci HG. I had reason to mention the hardware issue in relation to care of the bag.
Thank you but there is no need for authentication of my loafers. I bought them from Net-a-porter and Gucci Australia has offered to replace the horse bits.
I live in what is called a 'maritime environment', that is I live by an ocean beach with a lot of salt spray in the air, with fairly high humidity too.
Unfortunately this sort of thing can happen to metals if you live in a coastal environment, even with great care and even to Gucci products.

So, here is my beautiful Lady Web - and my suede fringed loafers (from 2015) too :smile:
