Omega Aqua Terra or Tag Heuer Link?

They don't have the 34mm in my store either. I've tried on the 30mm and I love that but I want to try on the 34mm before I make a final decision. I've seen the 34mm modelled on Purse Forum and it looks super special. The store I visited said that they would order it in for me but that I would have to pay a deposit just for them to do so. I am reluctant to do that because it seems like a tactic to me. The more that they push, the less inclined I am to buy.

I fully intend to get the Aqua Terra but I am going to make absolutely sure that the watch I decide on is the size I definitely want having tried on both side by side.

I've tried both on at the Omega boutique where I live. It's a really tough call: 30 or 34 mm. They both look great. Both are very substantial and, while I originally thought I would want the 34 mm, I ended up liking the 30 mm on me better. The 30 mm is still a substantial presence on the wrist and the 34 mm was heavy. The 30 mm also comes with a silver dial and the 34 mm with a white dial. Both SA's liked the white dial of the 34 mm slightly better. I thought they both looked good, though the white dial has a fresher feel to it.

I ended up getting neither. Omega would not budge on the price at all and for that amount of money I bought a Rolex. I still love the Aqua Terra though so, maybe one day, I'll find a nice pre-loved one or I'll buy the quartz model before they disappear. Pretty sure they're being discontinued by Omega.

Thanks for that added info. I do like the 30mm and may well end up getting that. However, I absolutely refuse to make a decision until, like you, I can try both sizes on and compare the two.

Omega doesn't give discounts like they used too, 15% to 20%. Now it is just 5%. Prices have gone up tremendously in the last couple of years, quite close to Rolex now.

What if you buy from an authorized dealer instead of the boutique? I know that the boutique gives only 5% discount but what about the ADs?

I think discount is controlled, ADs are required to follow the boutique's discount. An AD told us if head office knows that ADs give more discount than boutiques, their license will be revoked.

Where I live, there are no more authorized dealers. Just the Omega boutique which is quite nice, but they will absolutely not budge on price. No discounts at all. I think this is the model that Omega wants to follow eventually, so that they can control pricing and up the perceived prestige of the brand.
