OH DEAR!! First Came Limits On B's and K's... Now on CDC's Too???

There's a limit on TWILLIES? :shrugs: when I was in the Manchester King Street store buying my first twilly, the SA pulled out loads of them - and as someone said above, it was clear I could have bought as many as I wanted without issue.

It's such a shame that they have these policies. What are they there for? Is it to discourage us from our favourite products so we buy something else? Mental!

How about some real limits: Hermes provides every sales associate with an equal allotment of Birkins and Kellys, limiting the huge quantities of bags sold through the dirty SA's thus reducing the flow to the professional resale market. I have no problem with people doing this as a business. I have an issue with the availability being artificially restricted.

I went to the Paris Sèvres recently and was shocked to have a buying limit of 2 twillies only!

And IMHO, the SAs in Sèvres especially the bag SAs are the worst in Paris of all.

FWIW, I am in the US and bought my third CDC of the year (fourth if you count the one I returned since it was defective) and I asked about this while I was being rung up. I was told that the limit is no more than 3 of the same color per transaction. I am guessing this is to stop resellers cleaning out stock. So there seems to be no consistency in the messages. Ah, the mysteries of H!

Interesting...

Interesting...

which is what I heard as well, 3 per day. why don't you just speak with your SA? they could clear the confusion for sure!

Ps to the above-- Rue de Sevres in Paris is the most incredible, nice boutique with sweet SA's, there are no limits there and they go above and beyond for walk-ins they have never met. When I went, I was wearing nothing Hermes, for what it's worth.

Yes, though I will let it happen more organically in the course of shopping if I find another CDC soon that I "need." :smile1: So far, it has not been an issue for me. At the moment I am also trying to be good and wait patiently for a special bag that is coming this season for me.:graucho:

BTW, I also received excellent service from the SM at the Rue de Sevres boutique who offered me a birkin while visiting last summer.

In FSH i overheard a guy trying to buy 2 CDCs in one colour and the SA had to ask her manager if it was ok, they said: no, not possible. I guess there's really a lot of difference on how an SA treats customers. You have to be "credible" consumer. Was able to buy 3.

For the Sèvres part, the bag department SA was really cutting in his remarks! Maybe it was not his good day? But tried 2nd time next day. Still his same self..So I left. I will only go to the Sèvres shop to buy Petite H. Kudos for SAs in FSH. Very professional. I'll put my money where i'll be respected.

I can't agree with you more. I've nothing against resellers since they eliminate the need to buy tons of stuff to get on the list to buy your dream bag. I've heard that not all SAs are treated equal by their managers. Some of them have more access to Bs & Ks than others if the SM like them even though it is apparent that those bags are going to a suspected 'reseller' client. This has happened to my local store many times.

But on the other hand, if it weren't for resellers buying all the Bs and Ks, then perhaps we, non-resellers, would be able to buy bags without having to buy a bunch of stuff in order to get one!

Hello! I've enjoyed reading the posts in TPF for a while but never joined in. I'm curious though (and please excuse my ignorance if it's obvious) - what is a CDC? I've tried thinking what it could stand for but drawn a blank...

thanks :smile1:

Cdc = collier de chien

It normally refers to the bracelet but could refer to a belt, jewellery or a current season shawl.

It all depends on your SA. I can buy as many CDCs as I want in my local stores, but some of my others SAs only allow me to buy one per transaction. I bought two CDCs in Paris at the same transaction.
