My new spring break bag. Tote in MM.

I sold my Goyard off earlier this month after quality issues.

This bag is A LOT more inexpensive (got it on final sale from an Italian retailer) so I don’t feel as guilty using and abusing it!

But I have to say, it doesn’t feel as luxe as Goyard but at least it’s not Goyard!

Cool. Have similar Goyard PM with luckily no real issues (bought in 2013)but this Moreau canvas tote looks comparable. My current go-to tote is the Moreau Bregancon but it is leather (reversible); really reminiscent of Hermes to me in its sturdiness and well-made nature. But of course less $$ than a Birkin. 😀I would love to visit the Moreau store in Paris and check put these canvas totes. Enjoy your bag!

They brought this material in a few years back. It was after Moreau switched ownership. They brought in this coated canvas in to compete with the other houses having their hyper popular tote bags. I also think that this is when they first introduced the eco-leather. I’m not sure if they still produce them but before, what I call the house tote was the Celestin. It’s a jacquard outer and it’s lightly rubber coated in the inside. It’s all saddle-stitched. I actually was close to buying one of these coated canvas totes for inclement weather but decided to go with the Moynat Ruben tote.

Are the bags no longer saddle stitched? I'm glad I bought a few of them before the ownership switch. The leather is so supple and there's a beautiful sheen.

Someone posted a few comments above that they asked and the Bregancon is still saddle-stitched. However, I don’t think the handcrafting that really put them in a league above extends to the whole brand anymore. I have a card holder I bought from my original purchase in 2019 and one card holder I bought about 2 months ago and the differences are visible. I think the Bregancon is really a spectacular bag and the older handmade stuff from them is amazing. I haven’t bought anything from the newer stuff.

Curious, does anyone here own the Moreau Vincennes zip bag? I recently bought one pre-loved and the leather seems surprisingly flimsy and does not really hold its own shape. Compared to one of my Moreau tote bags, where the leather is much thicker and more structured. Not sure if it's supposed to be like that because it's a different bag

I have two printed Vincennes and they are much thinner than my other Moreau bags. It’s because the printed ones are the goatskin and the other thicker leather ones are taurillon.

Thank you!! It's a beautiful bag but it is very hard to wear crossbody -- the bag just crumples up 😅
I can imagine! The two bags I mentioned absolutely do not hold their shape very well and are a lot more “smooshy” that way.

I did want to correct something I said though bc I don’t like spreading false info: I checked my bags and it appears they do the Moreau print on goatskin and calfskin as well. Both are still much more thinner than taurillon.

Anyone have recs on where to sell a couple of older Moreau bags in great condition? There's so little brand recognition. I just don't reach for two of my bags.
Someone else here may know better, I don’t know of any resale places where you would get a decent price for Moreau Paris bags. They dont seem to have resale value like LV or Goyard. I have two of the reversible totes - one side leather(thick “bull”hide type) and the other side printed. I just continue to use them because they are so sturdy and handy to carry. The older ones almost have the tough, timeless quality with very good stitching of Hermes, but alas no one seems to want to buy or resell them. I say just keep and use and enjoy or be willing to take a lower price than what you paid. Maybe could try on site like Real Real? Not sure Fashionphile or Rebag evens carries this brand but might be worth checking.

I don’t the many of the reselling options would make you much of your money back. I would advise to just keep them and see if you rotate back to them or gift them to someone who might reach for them more than you.

When I started shopping them I recognized how little value they hold on the resell markets so I knew if I ever wanted to make room, I’d probably end up gifting them away. I would rather use it to carry groceries in then to let TRR sell it for pennies.

Please check on ebay. On and off there were/have been Moreau rare finds. Sell it there? Lots of Moreaus from Japan for sure.

Vestiaire Collective - second.

I have some early Moreau leather bags and wont sell them coz the new Moreaus are (sorry, for a lack of a better word) crap compared to their prototypes: leather, stitching etc.

Good luck..

When you sell on Vestiaire Collective, I try to stick to my price. I dont look at prices others have sold theirs for. Both Vestiaire and buyers try to lowball but wait it out...dont be in a hurry (unless one needs dough to refund newer bags or whatever)...bags will sell. Moreau bags sell for way less than what they are worth. Older Moreaus are simply not mass- produced machine made pieces of LV/Dior/Prada etc.
