Hello - I got 2 mini Roulis this year in August, both in swift. One is mauve sylvestre, one is magnolia. I adore them both, love swift leather and they’ve both been used multiple times. Mauve sylvestre is a pretty light color, and I’ve had zero issues with color transfer on either. The swift leather is beautiful, and looks brand new still. As my bags are small I use them to walk my dog, to run errands and for casual meals out. I got one tiny fingernail scratch on the magnolia one, it rubbed right out. I also spilled several drops of iced tea on the lighter one, and it wiped right off, no spot or stain. Both bags are holding up beautifully!

I know your bag is lighter in color, but I suspect if you are careful not to wear it against new dark colors it might do as well as mine. It’s a beautiful bag, I hope you wear it soon!! My two are among my top 3 favorite H styles, and the swift leather is absolutely gorgeous and soft and luminous. And the flap is so easy to get in and out of - I don’t like fussy clasps and this bag holds all I need and I can easily access my things. Let us see it if you take it out!! It’s gorgeous!
Thank you so much for sharing. Glad to hear swift survives minor scratch and spill. I like the Roulis for the ease of getting in and out and it’s an under radar bag. Definitely, going to take her out now but won’t wear against dark jean to be safe.

Do you find the clasp secure enough? Will things fall out if you bend over
I find it secure enough. I think for anything to fall out the way I use it I would have to hold it upside down for a bit and try to make things fall out. Not had any issues so far. It doesn’t snap, it’s just a slide flap that goes down through the stylized chain d’ancre, but it works for me.

Talk to me about the Roulis! I snagged one off the website and feel like I won the lottery but it’s pretty expensive and I’m now wondering if I keep or not? It’s a mini in swift ardoise. Thank you!
Firstly, congrats! Secondly, Ardoise is a lovely neutral grey you will like it. Hermes creative director did an interview where he explained that Hermes is costly but not expensive. Costly because of their highly trained artisans and quality of the item. Expensive is when you paid for something and the value or quality doesn’t match the price. No one does leather like Hermes but once you received the bag and your heart doesn’t sing or you don’t find yourself smiling then return it.

Lucky you!! I actually have 2 swift mini Roulis, and I am totally in love with those bags. In fact, they are my favorite H bag in a tie with my B’s. The swift leather is gorgeous, the bag is roomy enough for all my essentials including my iPhone 16 pro easily, and my 15 promax that pushed the sides out only a bit. Getting in and out of them is very easy, I added a chain d’ancre bracelet to make them crossbody for me, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. One of mine is in Mauve Sylvestre, so it’s lighter in color but absolutely no problems with color transfer. My other is magnolia, and it almost glows. I’ve used both extensively since last August and love them. They look brand new still.

If you can’t tell, I adore these bags, and I hope you do as well. It sounds beautiful!!! Would love to see pics! HTH

PS I adore swift, and it makes the color pop. The hand is gorgeous, and it’s lightweight. I can also rub out fingernail scratches easily on mine.

Using the bracelet to extend the strap is genius! Great idea thanks!

Agree. Unless you are doing cartwheels with it you shouldn't have a problem. I find it very secure, yet it's good as an everyday bag since you don't have to fuss with sangles.

I believe you have the older first version like my 23; you just need to bend the leather and slot/ fold it through the ring. That was how it was originally designed and later versions were modified with the T bar with the spring.
Hi there, I also have an older version of Roulis 23. I have tried to bend the strap but I just can't get it to work :( Could you kindly share a bit more on how to double strap, please? Thank you!

If you bend the leather such that the T bar is 90 degrees and parallel/ flush to the strap, you should be able to fit it in the O ring. This allows you to slide it through and double the strap if required. I'll try to get you some photos after my travels. 👌🏼

Omg thank you! If you can share some photos, would be fantastic! Much appreciated.

I've been carrying an unbranded bag very similar in size/style to a Roulis 23 for several years now to test out whether it might be the H bag I'd like to invest in. I'm looking for the perfect everyday crossbody, and the option to turn it into a shoulder bag is an extra plus.

I recently tried this preloved Roulis Mini 18 in Swift Nata with permabrass. The color was a gorgeous warm cream and I loved the tone of the permabrass, but I decided not to keep it for several reasons. I want my Roulis to be an everyday bag that I don't baby too much, and the combo of swift and light color seemed delicate. Second, the mini size was just a little too mini for me. My phone would only fit if the sides of the bag stretched, and it was a tight squeeze to get in lipsticks + keys + sunglasses, too. The crossbody hits fairly high (I'm 5'5), but I prefer that to hitting low.

So back she goes! But I've now confirmed that I should only be looking at size 23 Roulis in medium or dark colors, preferable in evercolor leather. Maybe etoupe, gold, or one of the many grey-greens. My dream would be Chai or Biscuit, but I've never seen a 23 in those colors, and they tend to be swift, which I now see I want to avoid.

And an update: presenting my 35th birthday present, a preloved Roulis 23 in Gold PHW!

This bag is absolutely perfect for daily wear--the evercolor leather seems hardy but luxurious, the flap is easy to get in and out of, and it has plenty of space--I can fit my phone, sunglasses, kindle, lipsticks, keys, wallet, with room to spare! I also like that it's fairly lowkey and would only be recognized by those who know the brand well.

I am by no means a bag collector--I stick mostly stick with H silks, though I did purchase an Evelyne TPM a few years back that I've since let go of. I've been fairly certain for a couple years now that the Roulis was the perfect H bag for me, and I've been seriously canvasing the preloved market for a few months. The colors I thought I most wanted--nata, chai, biscuit, vert amande--seemed only available in minis, and I wasn't sure if I wanted contrast stitching, which is predominant on the 23s. But after trying out a mini in swift nata I quickly realized that the size was not big enough for me for everyday use, and that swift was too delicate for me. So back to 23s and the more limited color selection it was!

I'd initially crossed Gold off my list as sort of "basic," but it's a classic for a reason, and so flexible!
Super happy with my choice and looking forward to using this as my workhorse. Were I to get another Roulis 23 down the road I think I'd go with something cooler toned like Gris Asphalte or Beton to round out my options.

Congrats @labelo and welcome to the club!
Many of the reasons you pointed out were the same for me when deciding on the 23 size. It's an under-the-radar bag but obviously very beautifully well-made. I love the back pocket, the flap is easy to use but also secure (sometimes I even just leave it flapping "open" as it's long enough to fully cover the front, and the bag's main body doesn't end up hanging open/"dragging" like the C), and I much prefer the way the strap works - either fully extended or folded in half, and how it connects to the sides of the bag.

It's definitely a workhorse for me (even if the vert verone color isn't really neutral 😅) as I regularly rotate it in/out. I just find myself coming back to it!
