Hello evelyne lovers, I recently saw that h online has size 40 evelyne and was curious if anyone has one and how heavy it feels. I am thinking it could be a good work bag but I worry about the weight. Is it as heavy as the gp 36 in leather or heavier? The upside is the evelyne has a thick strap. TIA!

I have one and it is heavy but very useful when need to carry a lot with cross body option. I will weigh mine and weigh a 36 leather GP tonight when I get home if you like. I think it is definitely heavier than the leather GP.

I don’t have an Evie 40 but I do have 2 GP36s, one in Negonda and one in Vache Country. I also compared my negonda with an Epsom GP 36 when I was in the store trying to decide which leather I wanted my first GP 36 in. The Epsom was noticeably lighter than the Negonda which in turn was lighter than the Vache country. So when you’re comparing an Evie 40 with a GP 36 in terms of weight you need to take which leathers you are looking at into account. I’m not sure if the Evie 40 comes in Epsom

So very true. Thank you for mentioning that important point!

Thank you that would be really helpful!!
They are very close in weight. The GP 36 in Negonda weights 2 pounds. The 40 cm Evelyne (TGM) in Clemence weighs 2.25 pounds. My Evelyne does not have the adjustable strap which may weigh more. I have seen vintage Evelyne 40 in Epsom, which would weigh less, but it would be too stiff for my taste making the bag look even bigger because it would not slouch as Clemence does, personal preference. All this said the Evelyne 40 feels much heavier in my hands than the GP and that may be the way the weight of the bag is distributed.

Thank you! This is really helpful and I’m in agreement about the leathers. While the Epsom would be lighter I think I would prefer the look of a Clemence or another of the typically used leathers. This may be too heavy as a work bag if I throw my laptop in.

I have one and it IS heavy - still, I bought it to use instead of a briefcase on some trips, so I want it to have substance! I can fit my MacBook, iPad, and other sundries in it and still have a ton of room, which is what I wanted!

Mine is the gold 40 - my SA searched like crazy for it and found it a couple months ago, then last week there was a gold 40 on the website!

Now if I could just find a gold TPM/Amazone to carry with it :(

Do you own Borzois? They are wonderful. I am a Briard owner. Sorry to go off topic.
The TGM is really handy for travel. My husband insists on sitting in bulkhead seats and I do not worry about the soft Clemence getting squashed in the overhead or under the seat ahead if not in bulkhead.

I do own/breed borzoi :). Love Briards, too - I showed a few of them years ago - really fun *powerful* dogs!

My borzoi are on FB under the kennel name Aria - they’re easy to find :)
