These are tough choices: I’m about your height with an athletic build and the GM is a little big on me. I’ve got two PMs and love the size, and able to use as an everyday bag. Based on size alone, I’d probably choose the orange. You can probably tone down the color with a more somber twilly or switch the shoulder strap. Good luck - either bag will make a great first H!

I think GM is too big for 5’2 in my opinion. If orange is too bright for you, I’d hold out for another color.

There are so many Evelynes out there, even online and resale options - why limit your choices so much if you don't like the color/size options?
I am 5'1", I could not carry a GM - I have seen it look good on petite people, but it will always be a big slouchy bag and it HAS to be Clemence to drape against the body.

It’s a personal choice, but the orange PM would be amazing! :happydance:I’m 5’2” and recently, DH brought home a PM and a GM for me to try. As much as I love the noir, I felt the GM is too big for me and will only be keeping the PM. This angle isn’t the greatest, but here are the two for size reference:

You really can’t go wrong, either way, though. Any one you choose will be perfect for you!

I would wait personally. For your first H you should go for something you’ll love and get lots of use out of. The GM will likely be too big and orange may be hard to wear with certain things. PMs come available online pretty often. There’s a nice blue atoll online in the US. That would be a great option. Otherwise I would wait. Hermès is worth waiting for! Good luck!
