I can't contribute any ideas but I'm interested in the answers you're going to get, because I share the same problem. I'm 5'1 and I can't wear any of Hermes' bigger silk or cashmere offerings. I do have a few CSGMs but can only tie them in one particular way. Anything else just feels like my small frame is drowning in fabric...
Yes, I know what you mean! I'm mostly fine with CSGMs, it depends on the print. If the print is very large and overwhelming, I have to stay away from it. But a shawl twice the length of a CSGM is just a bit...much.
The colors on it are so lovely! I'm curious. Is it thinner than a regular 140x140 CSGM? If so, you might try folding it in half so it is 125x140 and working with it that way. (so fold it widthwise instead of lengthwise) That way your max measurement is 140, same as CSGM.
Thank you, I really like the colours! They reminded my of the long yellow/orange veils worn by ancient Roman brides which were probably handwoven too; that's one of the reasons why I had to have it. Oh dear...
It may be a bit thinner than a regular 140x140 CSGM, it is slightly diaphanous, but at the same time, the weave makes it a bit "fluffy". If I fold it in half widthwise, it drapes from my shoulders down right to my ankles, like a cape. But it if fold it again, it only comes down to my hips. Then I can wear it as a stole (second picture). That's a great idea, thank you so much for your help!
