Thank you all for sharing your beauties! I am new to the scarfing ;) but have 2 quick questions for you, experts. If there is another forum on theee Qs, can someone please direct me there? TIA. My Qs: 1) How did new designs/cw roll into the market? I see some TPFers saying "will wait until new CW come out", so is it rolled out in any certain order?! 2) How people determine "this CW looks great on you" when u see only scarf, without view in combination with hair, face? I am still exploring & learning about cw so I thought I'd ask. Many thanks!

I'll make an attempt to answer your questions though I'm no expert so these are just my thoughts and impressions.

I believe designs are at the whim of the design gods at Hermes. I think 6 cashmere/silk shawls are released each season - spring/sumer and fall/winter - so that's a total of 12 a year. Some of these are reissues of older designs of shawls but in new CWs (like Chasse en Inde this season). And some designs were originally done only as a 90 cm silk scarf first, and then the design is issued as a shawl (Zenobie is current example from this season). I'm not sure if a new design has come out in a cashmere/silk shawl before being issued as a silk scarf first (or at least together in the same season). I'm also not sure if there are exact rules as to how many will be new or how many will be reissues - sometimes there is a "theme" for the season (e.g. Metamorphoses a little while back) so the designs of scarves and shawls may reflect more of that theme.. On the main forum page, there are threads dedicated to collecting intel about the upcoming designs for each season - Spring 2017 scarf thread is just beginning to get active. Different markets may get the shawls/scarves at different times (e.g. earlier v. later in the season and some shawls/scarves may arrive earlier in the season than others)) and in different quantities and different markets may not necessarily order every CW. Don't know if there is any rhyme or reason other than production timing, and what the Hermes buyer for their store or market think the demand will be. As for 90 cm silk scarves, I think 12 are issued each season and I think usually 6 are new designs and 6 are reissues.

Judging how a CW looks from photos is tricky, much depends on the lighting, the quality of the photo, your computer/ipad etc.). But I find most people (like myself who are shy about showing their entire face) usually show some part of their skin or hair so you can get get a general idea of skintone and hair colour and you canalso look at how the shawl/scarf looks against the colour of any clothes showing. In terms of choosing colours, also take a look at the colours in your existing wardrobe.

Hope this helps. And others who are more knowledgeable than me please chime in! :)

I know how you feel... I find the best revenge is to just wear it to death, take it anywhere, anytime, and enjoy it! I stop fixing the pulls now. I have about 10 CSGM, and I rotate them based on my mood.
Funnily enough, I pulled a long, visible thread in my Mors CSGM on a rough nail edge the first time I wore it this year. I fretted, stressed and got an unsatisfactory response from H in France. Then I just shrugged my shoulders and decided that I would use it as my everyday scarf and have even used it on a nightly basis as a blanket on a recent two - week train journey. Not one more pull. Not even a small one. Make of that what you will.[emoji23][emoji23]

Thank you so much, CanuckBagLover! You are an expert in my opinion. I was wondering when people were saying "will wait for more cw to come out". I understand now! I really appreciate your help. Btw, you have an amazing collection!
