So, I'm with you on the manageability of this size and love the comparative malleability of the silk to the 90cm carres. I've only started a love affair with Hermes scarves this year so I won't be catching up in number with the fabulous collections I've enjoyed looking at on this thread!

Here's my first purchased 70cm carre: Le Bouhou H in the fushia, tied with the asymmetric knot made simple and universally available by the renowned Mai Tai.

Pussywillow, what a gorgeous color on you! The asymetrical knot is fast becoming my favorite way to wear my only 70 so far - I think it looks elegant in a not-trying-too-hard kinda way:smile1:

However, I just love the way Springblossoms tied her The Grand Carosse (page 22 of this thread) and am determined to a) perfect this knot, b) buy more 70s so that I can c) wear more 70s to work tied in this knot over a white shirt and d) keep my eyes wide open in the search for The Grand Carosse. I think I've found my first grail to hunt.

Miss B

Thank you!

We seem to be newbies both - how to catch up with some of the wonderful collections on this thread? Rob a bank AND whizz back in time?! Have you noticed how few 70cm vintage carres come up on eBay - hardly any and fewer still available within the UK, alas. However, should I ever clap eyes upon your first grail Grand Carosse, I will tell you.

I love Pour Sortir, but there are very many I'd love to come my way. Where are this country's equivalent of All Goode and so on?!

I've scrolled back to page 22 on your express recommendation: is this an asymmetric ascot, with a long and a short tail worn to the side?

Good luck with the hunt!

I'm completely smitten and geeked out by the Quand Soudain design but among the colorways available online, the only 'wearable' one for me might be the purple/green/sky blue.

Does anyone have it in this cw and could tell me if it looks contrasted or muted? How bright are the purple and the green? Subdued shades of these two colors (whether light or dark!) are unfortunately wasted on me.

Sometime subsequent to the fuschia Boubou, I've gone the whole hog when jumped to purchase the blue c/w when it came back on the Hermes UK website last week. I'd tried this Boubou on back in February at the London Royal Exchange shop but felt it was too summery then. I bought a 90cm dip dye, my first new Hermes scarf, but have been yearning to wear the 70cm size more as I find it suits me and my lifestyle. As ever, finances and availability stand between Pussywillow and her desires!!!

The two colourways interpret Karen Petrossian's design so remarkably differently one can't believe that they are the same scarf: see the photos of the two scarves folded in the same way.

The fuschia makes me feel warm and glowing whereas the blue gives vibrancy alongside a sense of coolness
.

The Springblossoms knot fulfils my obligation to you, Miss B: I pledged I would try this long/short tail Ascot more alongside my favoured asymmetric shoulder knot.

:police:Any leads in the hunt for the Grand Carosse?

Pussywillow,
Gorgeous!! Both colorways are perfect on you. I have always wanted to see this pattern modeled and up close. Thank you for sharing your pictures with us! You are beautiful!! These bold colors and contrasts are just the right amount of "pop" for any outfit. Great news for you, but bad news for my pocketbook!:smile1:

Here are 2 new 70cms I got in Paris the other week -
Pois de Soie in Rose Pale/Framboise/Rouge and
Rendez-Vous Rive Gauche in Chocolat/Framboise/Rouge - this is the special edition just for the new Rue de Sevres boutique opening - it was sold out in January but they have a small stock again in this cw and a white one with blue/green for the figures.

Ladybaga - love your new scarves - yes I totally agree I adore the size and hand of the 70cm silks!

I am wondering what Hermes has in store for the AW11 70cms?? There has been nothing on the forum yet!

I bought my first 70cm this Summer ,[ IN H store] it's from AW '11 and it's Flora and Fauna de Texas

I've only worn it twice, and today I was trying to work out why I don't like wearing it too much . I realise it's because the reverse is not saturated at all , it's very pale, and the right side is very colourful : so when the scarf twists in wearing we see the pale side , which doesn't look good at all. Can you enlighten me ...is this normal for all these 70s , or is it just this design?

My new addition to my beloved 70 cm : J'aime mon Carré
