Hi, I'm starting to collect H silver jewelry and got 2 pairs of earrings and now looking at cdc ring. May i ask if the silver tarnish like Tiffany silver? Does H help to clean the pieces at no charge (like Tiffany)?
Thanks for any info!
I've had some of my silver buffed in the store to remove scratches, but only for my Confettis collection pieces which are meant to be mirror-reflective. One shouldn't have the buffing done too often, I was told, since it takes off a thin layer of silver.
As for cleaning tarnish, H will do it, but I've seen a pair of earrings that the London store cleaned and wasn't terribly impressed; tarnish remained in the nooks and crannies of the silver. Of course the results will vary store-to-store, but nonetheless I was not inspired by what I saw to want to shell out cash for it! So instead of paying H for cleaning, I use baking soda, vinegar, and boiling water (if you google that combo you'll see a zillion tutorials). Works like a CHARM with no scrubbing or paste, and it's so much fun to see the silver go in a bowl slightly dulled and emerge looking flawless.
