Ode to Silver

I have had my Fandarole for over two years I think and it has not needed any polishing. But then, I love the softer look of silver so maybe I am not paying attention LOL. It will be interesting to see how different the Galop will be. I suspect the horsehead will need some light polishing now and then.

Thanks for the input ladies!

Maedi: I'm used to the shiny disappearing fairly quickly on my sterling pieces, too. I like the soft glow of a nice patina, too.

etoile de mer: Many thanks for the info about the silvercloth and which companies makes useful product. I think it would be useful here, too as the air in Hawaii is full of salt and it is always so humid. Whatever H uses as a dip for tarnish repellent works really well. Good to know not to polish it until absolutely necessary.

lanit: wow! 2 years? That's fantastic. I've had my farandole for about a year now and it's still beautiful, it astounds me how well it is holding up.

I think this weekend I'll try for a family shot of my pieces. Love H silver!

Wow, two years, that's great to hear! :smile1:

Yes, please...I'd love to see your Hermes silver family! :smile1:

Well... while I think about how to photograph my small collection together, here's my latest acquisition: an Alea necklace modeled by my DS. :p

It's a choker on me, but I think it looks fabulous on him, too. He kept it on for 3 minutes while I tried to get a picture in focus before he went to pull it off. My DH laughed.

This necklace casual yet gorgeous with tshirts, very rock n' roll feeling. I haven't tried dressing it up though... it's such a substantial piece I'm not sure what to try pairing it with.

This is too cute. May I ask you what size did you get?

Sorry for belated reply. The size I got is 52. :p

I had to order the GM and hope the size is right (this will be the second time). My store isn't in the running for the PM version, the GMs are a re-stock (no pun intended) :D if I want it I'd have to take a chance H on-line, somehow that makes me more worried about sizing.

The GM Galop ring is stunning too. Did you get your ring yet? Waiting for your modeling pics... :graucho:

Still waiting for a new batch to come in

Never mind, I am consoling myself while I wait, with some new Gucci silver Flora earrings. They look great but they'll look even better with a Gallop ring :D

And here is my Coaching Men's silk with Galop GM...

Stunning and serene lanit,

Thank you also for putting the editorial pics up, I tried the ring on in Sloane St, H always order them to fit people's little finger :-s

LOL so so cute, look at those little cheeks aw :tender:

I have no idea what this is called. There's a ring that matches. Osmose ?

I think it is Vicoriashemes, the 'wedding ring' in gold looks similar to me too, it's called the Arianne

Thank you dear - and I totally am with you about H and their TINY ring sizes. I was hoping to find the Passarale - and nothing over size 55 and a global search was done. I would like to wear it on my largest middle ring finger. Don't give up hope. Hope it comes in soon for you!

I'd never wear them all like this together...but it was fun to try it, so heavy! I wonder how Mr. T did it with all his gold?

This is my current silver collection: Alea, Farandole 120, and Arabesque.
