finally saw a point d'orgue mousseline in person..just remember gris cendre as one of the colour on the tag and it has a true green border. it is gorgeous laid out flat but is not as nice tied since the best bits are in the centre. oh well..another one off my list!

At least you confirmed this mousse does exist in another cw! Even though I've seen the rose/blue, it seems strange to see only the rose/fuchsia/mauve online.

Just watched this program, and couldn't but be reminded of this thread.

It’sthe worlds largest pipe organ. Well over 33,000 pipes, some as tall as 64 feethigh. Built by the Midmer-Losh company, between 1929 and 1932, and designed tofill the massive Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ, the pipe organ provedhard to maintain through the depression and succumbed to leaks, buildingremodels, and time.

Theinstrument is undergoing a restoration that will bring it back to full voice, after more than 50 years. These were the ultimate musical instruments, set ingreat musical palaces where everyone believed they would play forever, and it’sproving to be true.

Thank you for the link! It is interesting.

Melora, I'm so sorry that I don't have a picture or cw info, but I saw a peach/grey colored one that was very pretty in Bergdorf this week while I was visiting NY.

And, did you know that there are Point d'Orgue enamels?!

Peach/grey? That sounds promising :)

Yes, I know of the enamels, they've been around since the silk Point d'orgue. I would have bought one if my 2 enamels weren't sitting, unworn, in my jewelry drawer ;)
Actually, the bracelets are the reason why I got the scarf: I stupidly googled "jewelry pipe organ" (what was I hoping for? A pipe organ pendant? How big would that be around my neck? :D ), and I found the enamel and the silk.
